I wonder what Hammy would say (if he were still the AD) to Haslam, Ergen and Anderson about that $5 million dollar buyout when he went to them to try to open their wallets this time for Gruden?

Exactly. Did Ham move out of state? That dude straight up vanished. People were threatening his life though

Yeah when the Tennessee job was open after Fulmer Hammy didn't want Brian Kelly said he couldn't recruit nationally. But i guess getting ND to number 3 in the nation is not that good.

That's actually a good point my friend.

Do NOT forget that Kelly and his Defense coordinator also use a 3-4 D like Bama does but Kelly and his DC are now in year 3 of that 3-4 D and it's finally coming together very well.

It always takes at least 2 years to learn everything and get the 3-4 D working well but once it's working well it's very tough to keep a scoring drive going.

Kelly also has 3 of his recruiting classes on the team but CDD only has 2 of his classes on this team so we're still getting the right kids for our 3-4 D and they still have lots to learn and perfect.

VFL...GBO!!!

Quit with the 3-4 crap. They are running a modifed version of 3+1 on the d-line because they do not have the players for the straight 3-4 as the base D yet. In effect it is a 4-3 much of the time. Most of the season has been played in a 4 man front including a ton of nickel due to the many sprint option offenses they go against.

That is no excuse for bad secondary play. Kids in HS play "quarters" and nickel coverage all over the country. They are just bad. Kids in HS that play LB and safety know how to read O-line blocks and the lead blockers to stop plays on the edges easily. Not our D.

But it's still Year-0 of the 3-4.
