Pensky seems a good coach, and the team is well organized and competitive. But after a good win against Ole Miss, we got handled by a good South Carolina today, at home. The Vols were not very good. We need more athleticism and dynamism in the midfield--we got abused in the midfield today. South Carolina was a much quicker team. Crank up the recruiting, coach.

This year's freshman class was in the top 10 and the one he has coming in next year includes one of the top 5 players in the country. They'll be fine.

Before today, UT was 3-0 against Top 25 teams, an OT loss to USC is nothing to be ashamed of.

It was an OT loss, true, but in soccer you can be completely outplayed and keep it close. Our defense was solid--but we were on the defensive all day. We do have a young team, but the midfield needs more athleticism. We did not possess the ball today either--just kept kicking the ball the other way.

Also, in soccer (and every other sport) you can be completely outplayed, yet two days later play amazing. Heck, I support the Sounders, and they lost 5-1 last night but are still favorites to win the Supporters' Shield (best regular-season record in MLS).

I'm a soccer fan and like watching the UT women. Under Kelley we had a good for a while--made the last 16 in the NCAA tournament twice, I think, might have made the final 8 one year. I think we were the class of the SEC for a few years, or certain among the league's best teams. Then Kelly seemed to lose momentum. Recruiting fell off and suddenly we were no better or worse than about five teams in the SEC. That's about where we are now. I hope we can get back near the top and become a top 20 program again. It's competitive--I wouldn't have expected South Carolina to be so good, but they are. It was obvious from the video interview after today's game that Pensky was troubled, and rightly so: it was a home game for us, south carolina had played a double OT game on Friday, but they had better runners and better legs.
