They haven't been avoided of rights. That is not what I am upset about. I am upset by many of you depicting women as dumb and fat for standing up for what they beleive. What a wonderful lesson to teach your daughter! "If you beleive in something, you are fat and stupid." And to those pointing out the women that are fat, shame on you for deligitamizing their right to protest because they are overweight. And to those that claim they are stupid, shame on you for assuming that because they don't agree with you, she must be a dumb woman.

Imagine your mothers looking on this forum and reading these posts. What do you think she would say about what you have posted?

I would assume that based off the remarks president trump has made about women, and his actions towards women, that the feel threatened of oppression. It doesn't mean they have been oppressed directly. Still, if a woman feels they are under threat of oppression, whether one feels it is legitimate or not, they have the right to protest. That is what makes this a great county. Free speech is a wonderful amendment to the constitution.

Of course they do! And I have a right to express how I feel about them marching about nothing. Not a trump fan, and didn't vote for the guy, but the amount of teeth gnashing and fear mongoring by his opposition is absurd.

Well I guess you just answered the question. The reason why they marched is because a lot of people don't care about what they have to say. many women feel that when they are having problems, no one cares to acknowledge them, claiming that those that feel like they are having problems are just seen as being "fat" and "ignorant".

So they're mad about what trump said, yet have no problem being partly led by Sarsour? The same woman who protweets about shahira law! Do you know what women's rights are under that law? I'm just saying, it was nothing more than anti trump propaganda. If a female is being oppressed, I'd be right beside them for my girls, but you'll have to forgive me for not being moved by this ignorance.

I have a worthless 21-year old sister who has never even tried to get a job nor is she in school. She "protested" yesterday. It's all she does, cries about "injustice" while having EVERYTHING handed to her including world trips. For whatever reason she hasn't been kicked out of the house yet, I sure as hell would have been. Believe me, she knows how I feel about her worthless age group.

Of course they can protest, I'm not sure of anyone saying they couldn't. No one is calling all these women fat and ugly, some pointed out some ironic signs. Also, your first sentence says it all. Way to be accepting and open-minded! Hahahaha

I don't disagree. The protest was very anti-trump. I don't know the law you are referring and I doubt many of the protesters did. I still don't think you can delegitimization their march based off of what the organizers said. I assume many women had their own reasons for marching, regardless of how backwards one person that had a hand in organizing a protest in one city of the world (D.C. I am assuming). There were many other marches organized by other woman leaders all over the world. Hard to say that it was all ignorance just because of what one person believes women rights should be, even if they organized one of the marches. That is discounting the beliefs of the other millions that were marching.

I'm sorry for your girls that you didn't march. I'm sure they would have liked to represent women from their viewpoint. I guess what they think doesn't matter though, given that one person organizing the movement has a different interpretation as to what women's rights are.

They are have the right to protest whatever they want to, just like all of us do. That does not automatically imbue merit to the cause they are marching for. I respect their right to protest even if I view their cause as overblown

What "rights" have been so egregiously violated that they are protesting. What specific laws are they either wanting enacted or repealed?

Ribbing based on stereotypical appearances goes on on both sides. For everyone that makes fun of fat ugly women marching, there's one on the other side making fun of fat virgins neckbeard guys living in their moms basement. You need to get off your white knight high horse and while your at it remove women from the pedestal and view them as real people too.

Sorry for saying that. I was just appalled by some of the remarks some of you mentioned. To clarify when I said all of you I meant those that were showing pics of protesting women in a negative light.

Also, I'm sorry you see your sister this way. I'm sure she is a wonderful person that has contributed something important. I'm sorry for her that she has a brother that views her as worthless. Maybe she marched because she knows you think that of her?

The millions of women who are prolife were told by the event organizers they were not welcome. Why is it those who claim the high road always exclude and paint others with broad brushes? Take you for example. Right out of the gate you came in here and called everyone of us names. Even the several, including myself, who didn't make fun of the protestors. Do you not see your own hypocrisy?

The pics of women protesting aren't photoshopped that I've seen, so if they appear in a negative light it's because of the women in them. Women have the same rights as anyone in this country, so this whole thing is stupid feminist propaganda.

Oh the irony of this post. I wish I could have just not gotten a college education or received seven years of graduate education. I have been studying in college and grad school for a combined 11 years. Many have shared their viewpoints on women's rights to me. I have listened. It would have been much easier on my mind to just ignore it all. It has been a difficult decade, as I am about to defend my thesis. I think maybe I should have not done all of that and gotten a normal job.

But then I am reminded of how the easy things are not very rewarding. I feel good about my decision, despite the long road it has been.
