Woman kills baby, it's called a choice: Man does it, it's called murder

Its simple really..using UTVOLPJ's and Gramps logic its obvious they hate UNWANTED babies having rights.

I don't think that is a fair explanation of utvolpj's position.

I think his position is that in the end, the woman should have the final say because she is the one that is carrying the baby and the one that has to deal with the consequences associated with carrying the baby.

I counter with this:
1. If women are given final say based on the obvious biological differences and consequences associated with giving life, then feminists can no longer argue that men and women are equal. There are significant physical and emotional differences between the 2 genders. If they would just come out and admit this simple biological truth, then we can act accordingly. If women are given this special privilege based on their biology, then women will realise why men are represented in higher proportions in certain jobs and are better compensated in several more. We can end all of these silly surveys that say that a housewife should earn $100k/yr.

2. If the woman has the final say, then she needs to realize that there is a consequence associated with that. She made the final say, then she needs to be the one responsible for caring for the baby. You can't say on the one hand that it takes 2 to make a baby, but then on the other hand say that it only takes 1 to terminate the pregnancy. Either both parents are involved in the decision, or the women gets final say and total responsibility. If this were the case, then women would be more selective of who they allow between their legs if they knew that they couldn't rely on the state or child support to clean up their mess.

While I agree with PJ on the vast majority of his postings, I had to scratch my head on your comment. I then went back through the thread and re-read it. On this issue PJ and I disagreed.

He and I were discussing when we believe the beginning of life is. I don't get your comment about unwanted babies having rights.
