give Ainge a contract, like yesterday.

1. He has a good radio voice which several of their host lack.

2. He has actual football knowledge which most of their host lack.

I was just listening to him on the 12 to 3 show and thought to myself I prefer him not running the show, just giving his football knowledge.

I agree. Ainge is insightful.... as long as he's got somebody reigning him in. His old show used to get goofy when he got off topic.

I think the 4-6pm RTI show on 1180 is the best radio show in the market.

That said, I still only tune in to RTI on Mondays and Tuesdays when Ainge is with them. If he wanted it, he could seriously be an ESPN-level talking head. The dude is succinct and extremely intellectual with football. And he's got enough quip, quirk, and charisma to flourish with a balanced co-host.

I admire him. He clearly loves his family and puts his family first, and he loves being in Knoxville. He'd have to uproot or spend a lot of time away from home to support a sports media career.

If Jordan Rodgers can be a color guy on the SEC Network, Ainge could as well.

if this is the station that calls itself Sports Animal, Ainge would be a huge improvement in the am. Hell, anyone would. Those people (Dearstone, etc) are horrible.

Ive tried to listen to them in the am on IHeart....cant do it.

Ainge should have tried getting a job as an SEC N announcer - if Jordan Rogers and Tebow can do it he can too

Ainge is fine with a good host. He had his own show and it denigrated into high school grab ass.

He was on waaaayyyy too long. He is good but can't carry 4 hours. That's why it digressed into sophomoric humor with him and Jay Bay.

I think Ainge could do an awesome Monday morning QB show and let him break down the game and the next week's opponent over 2 hours.

Or you could stick him with a competent co host and give him the drive time show and bounce Doc Jeff and Heather.

I agree. Ainge is really good. I do think he could be a little more objective with opinions on the Vols, but he's very articulate, knowledgeable and well spoken. He'd do a great job tomorrow if he was analyzing from the studio or calling a game as the color man.

I would listen to almost anyone over Josh and Will.

Dearstone banned Cattleman from calling in. No matter how bad you think he is, at least he is doing one thing VERY right.

I have been very proud of Ainge. Me and him went through a similar cercumstance with addiction. I'm glad to see he is doing shows and doing well in life.

Bob needs to retire so he can spend the rest of his time and money at the Mouse's Ear.

Then UT can hire an professional and enthusiastic Voice of the Vols.

Maybe Mike Keith will do double duty.
