Witten to retire after 15 years

Bittersweet. I hope he is quitting soon enough to be able to enjoy the rest of his life with minimal pain. Unless I'm forgetting someone, Barnett, Kamara and the punters (?) now become the face of UT in the league. Who else am I forgetting? Don't say Dobbs or that DB.

Now that he will be on MNF, his profile is actually going to increase. He is still the face of UT football in the NFL - even more so now.

If he had been on a decent team, he would have brought home several titles. A pity, cause he deserved it.

Before it starts, STOP with the coaching stories of how he should be a coach bs,, He is a player, he made a LOT of money, A Whole LOT!. Why would he want an 85-110 hr a week job coaching?? JMO

You are right... but on VN we all know that he is succeeding Gruden in more ways than one. Wittumors? :)

He may retire, but I still would not be surprised for him to go one more year. They are now saying it's not final yet and he is going to think on it. GBO!

I work as a contractor at the Star. This has been done for a week...under consideration before that.

Did pretty well for a guy with an abusive father, carrying an inferiority complex. Surround yourself with good folks, good things happen. He sets an example all Volunteer alumni should strive for, and then theres his contributions on the field as well.
