Something I read earlier got me thinking about Ramar Smith. If he hadn't made it into school at the beginning of the year, which many people thought he wouldn't, how good or bad of a team would we be right now?

well jordan howell would be our starting PG...he's okay but we wouldn't have much depth at all...i'd say we would be an NIT team

This thread makes me dwell on Wingate's ingnorance as he failed two drug tests over the summer.. Which now has him relishing in mop up duty over in Turkey.. Now that I think about it, Chism and Duke may not have matured as fast had Wingate been playing. I know he would of helped our post depth and interior defense, but now I see its really helped Chism and Crews play with more confidence as we head down the stretch..

We may actually have 2-3 more wins because he is a liabilty at the free throw line.

Ramar has shot 66.9% from the FT line
Howell has shot 68.4% from the FT line

Let's say on an average night, our PG would shoot 7 FTs.

That's .1 of a point every night.

Let's take it further:

Ramar averages 10.4 points per game with 26.8 minutes per game, or 1 point every 2.57 minutes.

Howell averages 4.3 points per game with 19 minutes per game, or 1 point every 4.42 minutes.

Give Howell 26.8 minutes per game, and he'd average 6.1 points per game.

To make up for the 4.3 point difference between the two, Howell would have to shoot 128.5% at the FT line, which is impossible.

Without Ramar Smith, Tennessee finishes 5th in the SEC East and would be playing for favorable NIT seeding this week.

Whoever brought it to your attention was wrong.

At the end of December, he shot 69.4 at the stripe.
At the end of January, 63.5.
At the end of February, 66.4.
