With Pig hurt -- who redshirts this season

Although Pig will be behind the others in practice, he may play the second half of the season.

My guess for redshirts is probably less informed than most, but here's my list.

Nathan Peterman, Daniel Gray, LaTroy Lewis, Danny O'Brien, Alden Hill, and Trent Taylor.

The only reason I think O'Brien redshirts is that there are so many bodies at DT. Of course, he could be better than some of them already, but it takes most people a redshirt year to get ready for DT.

Too early to be discussing redshirts. The coaches haven't even gotten these guys in pads. My guess is the coaches have thought, but they haven't decided anything. Ask this again in a month.

Peterman is far from a for sure redshirt at this point, coaches are considering special packages for him to utilize his dual threat abilities

This seems absurd imo. Only way I can envision him playing this year would be because injuries to both Bray and Worley. If we're designing plays for him to run, then our run game is in deep do-do

The 2007 Florida team did not find it absurd on their way to a national championship.

You pretty much did. Re-read your post about UF.

Um no I didn't, saying that we could use a quarterback in the same way that Florida used Tebow is in no way saying that Peterman will ever be the college player that tebow was.

Wow...I can't wait to watch Peterman using his 215 pound frame and 4.8 speed to dominate the SEC. I hope the coaches aren't foolish enough to burn a redshirt over mediocre measureable. If they do, expect a coaching change.

No truth at all to this. Please never post again. Thanks

Yes there is truth to it. Try looking something up before calling someone out dipsh!t. Per Rivals:

True freshman gunslinger Nathan Peterman, who was ranked by Rivals.com as a four star prospect and the top quarterback prospect signed by any SEC school in 2012, has impressed early. More-so than any other newcomer in the Vols camp. Head coach Derek Dooley said Peterman is "well beyond his years" at this point.

"He's kind of like Tyler in that his arm's so strong that he makes some questionable decisions, but that's not always a bad thing, we're going to do some things that will simplify things for him early."

"Where he's different from Tyler is physically, he's a lot more mature than Tyler was two years ago. He is more mobile, but he has some good meat on his bones. He can do a lot of different things. His arm is incredibly strong and he loves contact." Dooley said Peterman is at 6'2, 225, up from the 215 UT lists him at.

The Vols head coach hinted at the possibility of using Peterman this fall not only as Bray's primary backup, but in a special package that will allow the Vols to take advantage of another dimension of Peterman's game, his legs.

"Situationally, some short yardage stuff, and maybe seven-ten snaps a game, if some things happen." That package is an option like package, Dooley said, that would have runs and pass options built in. "We're a long way off from that, but it's something we've certainly discussed. When you get guys like this, you have to use them."
