With Lambert gone...any other JUCOs?

They actually do bring the eagle to games...golden eagle I think it is.

I know that, I've been to numerous Auburn games and have several family members and numerous friends/coworkers that graduated from there and no one considers the Eagle as a mascot. It just seems childish for people to constantly say "they can't even make up their minds of what they want to be."

No. It's a mascot, because they bring the eagle to all home games. Period.

That, there, is an identity crisis.

Smokey, the "coon dog", does NOT represent any sort of identity crisis, as Davy Crockett (ultimate Volunteer) and other frontiersmen would have had one as "man's best friend."

AV

PS. Auburn's most accurately representative mascot would be the banker guy from Monopoly. They should just go ahead and pass out "$" helmet stickers.

When your most visible costumed mascot is a dog wearing a jersey then the same can be said of us. Not one person I know who attended Auburn considers themselves War Eagles in any capacity. It's a supplemental "mascot" if you will, same as smokey is for us. I guess we're bluetick hounds as much as Volunteers.

FTR, if no one knows, the eagle was brought to an AU game by a Civil War veteran who had found it injured on a battlefield and nursed it back to health then kept it as a "pet". On AU's final drive he broke free from the owner and hovered the stadium and AU scored the game winning drive. At that point students yelled War Eagle. It's clearly stuck and hence why the eagle still hovers over the stadium.

It's time to come out of the closet man. It's obvious you're an auburn fan.

With all due respect, SHUT UP.

Don't blame him??? As late as last night he was telling coach Jones he was still firmly committed?! That shows no character at all. Did any of you see Pearson's quote of 'once I give my word, that's it, I keep it.' There are so many 'younger members' on VN that don't have standards of character. I give my word, I complete my word. Don't care who you are, if you don't keep your word, you don't have character. Less and less good character youngsters growing up. A major problem for this country!!!

yep shows his character, actually glad he is not coming here. type of person that takes money from boosters. low quality individual to do something like that.

How do you know he told CBJ he was committed as of last night? Maybe he told him a week ago. It's not like CBJ could have talked about it without a violation.

How'd I get pulled into this? I just like throwed rolls.

So a lot of analyst seem to think Owen Williams may be the better player with the best intangibles compared to Lambert, but Williams might take a tad bit of seasoning since he is more raw.

It did sting a little, but we need fully committed kids to come in and compete. And Lambert made his choice. Let's move on and save oiur energy for the other 33 committed guys that want to be in orange! WE WILL BE FINE!!

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet but according to Ainge Lambert may be ruled academically ineligible (TIFWIW) so we may have dodged a bullet there.
