Not a chance. With good coaching could he be a decent, serviceable, even good SEC QB? Yeah.

But a star? Nah.

He's got a cannon for an arm. Holds the ball too long. Not nearly as fast as I thought he would or could be. Seems accurate. I don't like his high velocity short passes.

This is funny to me not the original statement. In fact I agree with coaching he does have a chance to be special.

What's funny to me is these fans saying no he can't. I get it were struggling. But he's not the problem. The offense is, the o line, WRs not getting open, coaches not developing him. Does he hold ball or struggle with pre snap reads? Sure but I'm sorry I forgot he's a freshman. Come on people.

Yal are the same people criticizing Dobbs while he was here only to now realize how much he overcome.

Clearly he’s wasn’t ready to be in this position. Can he mature and develop over the next off season? Maybe...but I’m concerned with his lack of field presence especially feeling the heat on pass rushes and his seemingly lack of quickness....

He doesn't have the wheels or slippery like I thought he was but has a little better passing than Dobbs early

I think either qb would be good if we had any coaches. We haven't seen a good qb coach in so long we have wasted lots of talent. Qb's leave go somewhere else and they are good but those whom stay are average passers or below. Dormandy threw for over 6,000 yards in 2 years in high school but he is not a good qb at Tennessee. We don't develop any players, their last game of high school is there ceiling. That comes down to coaching. With the talent we have we should at worst be with only one loss.

He has the talent to be a star. Just because he hasn't shown it yet doesn't mean anything.

Dude, have you not been watching him? Doesn’t have the instincts or intangibles, not to mention accuracy throwing the ball.

Can he be good? Sure, with the right coach. But a star qb in the SEC? Don’t remotely see it.
