With an all SEC schedule now, what's considered a good record?

If your record was projected at 10-2 with your normal 8 game SEC and other OC games would 7-3 be considered a respectable record with 10 SEC games and no cupcakes. I think we will have to reconsider what's a good record now. Depending on who VOls get as our 2 add games, maybe 6-4 could be considered a good record for this season. Bowl games may have to consider 5-5 teams this season to.

Being competitive with the top teams, win or lose, would show improvement.
Our record will not look great.
You never can tell. If we are lucky with who gets C-19 and has to set out 2-3 games as apposed to who we play when, we may have a really good record. A few key players out against us (like a starting qb, top receiver, key linebacker, etc) who knows, we could have a really good season, if we and others have enough healthy players to field teams.

The problem with that is that over the past several years we've made other teams' backups look like world beaters. They happen to either have their coming out parties or their record breaking days against us.

True, true, but I feel there is a different mind set with our defenses now days. The ability to adapt seems to be better.

7-3 Worst
8-2 Best

I don't see bowl games this season. Bowls depend upon fan attendance and activities that don't include social distancing for their revenue stream. 4 team playoff, yes. Conference championship games, probably. Bowl games, probably not.

It depends on what catastrophic world ending virus, zombie, murder hornet, killer squirrel, tree animating thing happens between now and then! It is 2020! Hopefully it's all wins and no losses!

The level of concern I have for WR is nothing compared to our QB play. I am actually not all worried about WRs. I think we have solid veteran starters and good but young backups.
I agree on the WR. When have we now been perfectly fine at that position?

You forgot starting the true freshman. Every true Vol fan knows he would have a career game !

Tough to say this because I "like" Pruitt better than I ever did Jones... but he needs to start competing and winning against some of the upper tier teams.

People still have this conception that a coach can take many years to rebuild a program. They can't. To keep the recruits coming, you have to prove you can coach. He's had time to get some players. He's had time to develop them. He's had time to establish his system.

He has to prove he can get it done on the field now.
