With a chance of rain this weekend..

Is anyone concerned about the weather for Saturday? 80% chance of rain is not looking too good

Not at all. If Oklahoma has really shifted to an air raid offense, and we are a team that can run for 400 yards, I would welcome a little rain.

I think rain might help us a little bit. Keep the ball in the run game . I still don't fully trust our secondary, and we have a lot of weapons on our side of the ball

Though some disagree, most experts say that rain favors the team that runs the ball best, unless the opposing QB is a 'mudder'.

You're getting the rain! We always get it first down in DFW...raining as I type.

You're getting it! Raining in DFW right now... Not a thunderstorm, but it usually picks up steam by the time it reaches you.

Just checked the latest GFS model and according to the 06z run it looks like the greatest chance of rain will be in the morning through the afternoon. There may still be some lingering showers for the first half of the game, then we should start to dry it out during the second half as the area of low pressure and vorticity move east of us. So, in a nut shell, rain chances will be around 50 - 60% for tailgating, then dropping to about 20% coverage after halftime. At least that is what it looks like right now, but it will vary slightly from model run to model run. Usually 3 days out the models settle down quite a bit though. HOWEVER, checking the NAM model indicates that the upper level low will slow down quite a bit and rain chances will be greater late in the game. This is why it is so hard to predict the weather. Models vary quite a bit. I'll go with the GFS on this one....for now.

I quit using weather.com a few years ago when they called for four inches or so of snow here and we ended up with a foot and a half.

Anyway, Weather Underground has a 44% chance of bad weather at kickoff with perfect temps.

A little rain honestly benefits us.

You would always think rain benefits the better running team which definitely appears to be UT.

However, bad footing always affects the secondary the most. DB's don't know where they're going, WR's do.

It'll be interesting to see this thing play out Saturday night, regardless of weather.

I just saw 80% chance of thunderstorms on weather.com

It's East Tennessee in September, Koach. Having grown up in Maryville, thank you very much, I've seen the forecast change between breakfast and lunch. Rain or shine, the Sooners have to play in it, too. I think rain gives us a little edge with our running attack....

Temps are dropping and rain chances increasing. It's going to be cool and wet. Bring your Jack and either an orange or white poncho. BE PREPARED!

That's a great point from the secondary's point of view

Must be why the ticket forum has so many OU game tickets for sale today
