Wish the media would cover the Brown situation better

To me, John Brown is one of the biggest stories the media should be covering. I am just amazed no one cares to try and find Something out. I mean our DL is lacking and this could help us greatly. We have been waiting for a while without any news. Just seems like no one is trying to find anything out... Disappointing. :realmad::realmad::realmad::realmad::realmad:

Yeah. Getting him in would be huge. Seems like everytime someone says when we can expect something, it doesn't come and it'll be a couple more days. Can't figure what the holdup is.

I wonder how much has to with Dooley and not talking to the media....he could let us know something

If the media hypes it up and he does not get in- it will reflect bad on the student and university

It's just frustrating knowing that him being on the team could help us out and no one will say anything about it. Not even a mention of him in any article. Geeez

What is the media supposed to differently than it is doing now? If Dooley wants this released, he will see to it that it is released. Dooley, himself, may not even know yet.

I would have thought his status would have been settled by now, it seems to me that the lack of news means the situation doesn't look good. Perhaps they are exhausting all avenues before admitting defeat on this one?

what do you want to know? He finished summer school and reports are that they sent his grades back to his CC for certification. Once they do their thing we will know something. Kinda hard to report on a situation where not much is happening

exactly! you'd think someone would talk to someone and give us a clue at least about the process, like the juco degree or transfer of credit procedure... even if there's no news you'd think the media would be respondent enough to give us a story with some facts on the situation and at least tell us no news! local media doing horrible job digging on this one

Leave it to the message boards and those who follow- most fans don't even know who he is- no real news to report

If I was a journalist I would want to be the one breaking all the news. Isn't this how you get ahead in that business. You find sources that leaks information, you investigate and try to break the story. To me, this is a big story and it seems like no one cares to find out what is going on. No mention of his name anywhere. I'm just saying that someone could write something about the situation. Someone has to know something. That is all I am saying. There has to be information out there.

Dooley said Saturday that he hoped to hear something on Monday.

I would bet money we will know about Loften and Brown either way by the end of this week.

Probably a no go on both though unfortunatly.

Hope I am wrong!

Dooley can't comment on a player until he is signed per NCAA rules. I don't know that he has officially signed and been admitted? I may be wrong but if the former is not the case, then maybe Dooley just doesn't want to speculate on what may or may not happen. The team must be prepared to play without JB this year until they hear otherwise.

someone said in another thread that sending them off to CC was a good thing...It can go both ways

1.)sending them off to verify that he did make it in and Dooley is being careful
2.)he didn't have the grades and barely missed it and they are hoping they missed something

Dooley can't comment much on it and there's nothing to be reported except "We'll have to wait and see"

KNS sports writers are physically and intellectually lazy...thought everyone knew that. It used to be quite different though.

I agree with you on that, but no amount of reporting is going to lead to anymore than a "We'll have to wait and see" answer

We could get the media to post someone outside of the football complex for hourly, "No news yet" updates.

It'll be just like watching CNN cover a political race or big weather story...

I understand you wanting to know and I'm not trying to argue here but technically this is an issue of a students grades. Athletics aside, it's really none of our business. He will either make it or he won't. The speed at which we find out will make no difference as far as the team goes. We will know soon enough.

If Brown doesn't make it in, think of the DT commitments we had this time last year and how NONE of them are on the team....brutal
