Wireless Router question

I'm in the market for a new router. Mine is on the fritz. So I need some advice.

I've got 30mbps coming into my house. My modem is a motorola surfboard that can handle up to 38.

My wife and I are the only ones connected to the network. We connect our phones. I stream music over our sound system. We do casual internet perusal on the ipad. The only other usage is for Netflix and connecting to our work VPN. The only devices I believe that can even use AC is our iphones, which we don't really need fast speeds on.

Our house is small and we don't need much range, but there are a lot of wifi networks around, so I think we need dual-band.

However, we'll probably be moving a year from now and the range and number of connecting devices could change. I read there will be better AC modems coming out later this year. Should I just go with a cheap N router for now? Thoughts?

TIA :hi:

Here's a TP-Link that we sell that is absolutely rock solid. It's also under $70.

Amazon.com: TP-LINK TL-WDR3600 Wireless N600 Dual Band Router, Gigabit, 2.4GHz 300Mbps+5Ghz 300Mbps, 2 USB port, Wireless On/Off Switch: Computers & Accessories

It is Dual-band, and honestly will probably alleviate the need for AC, because of the throughput it offers. Plus, it's got Gigabit ethernet ports.

Thanks. This one caught my eye today as I was researching. Seems like a good buy :hi:
