I think Nate hits it on the head with this one. I think there are some guys who still believe and a growing group that says “ I don’t believe you I don’t trust you”

Listen, I consistently see true freshmen QBs come in and perform at a higher level than out 4th year Junior QB. At this point, he is who he is. And that isn’t good.

This!! ^ JG is still making the same mistakes he did as a freshman, not seeing wide open receivers and holding ball to long!

He's scared to make a mistake and he has no confidence in his abilities.

He also needs to have more confidence in his receivers to make the tough catches.

I don't know if it's true, but I read somewhere that he doesn't throw against DBs in practice. If so, that's asinine on the coaching staff. You need him throwing in practice against those DBs to help with his situational awareness. To know what throws he can make and build confidence in his skills as a passer.

Frustrating as a WR to bust your ass, get open downfield only to see your QB constantly checkdown, throw the ball away or turn the ball over. Extremely frustrating as a whole team to see one guy hold you back and give you very little chance to win.

Some guys didn’t buy in and we’re limited on some areas bc of it. You risk losing the rest of your players if you constantly trot JG out there.

Practice thread shows that he throws against nothing but air. That's why he looks like the best in practice. He may make the best passes to a wide open receiver, but he sure don't on game day.

That's just open practice. I'm sure he's throwing against DBs at some point when they're simulating the opposing defense.

IT doesn't steal crab legs or rape.other than that, they are close so far this year.Winston has been a load for 4+years,but Tampa keeps playing him because of the "Heisman".He is an absolute waste.

Only a small portion of practice is open to media.
I rewatched the game this am and made almost the same observation Joe did above. He can hit a wide open receiver, but, he can not throw one open. To be fair, we haven't had a QB that could throw a receiver open in a LONG time.

Also, like DG wrote in his BYU game analysis, JG, for whatever reason, seems too throw better under pressure. BUT, when he's got time, he seems to over think it, and he had a lot of time this past Saturday.

Look, I get it. After last year, if there was a trophy for the toughest QB, JG wins it in a run away - No Contest! However, there are no trophies and no points given for being tough.

We are playing UTC this Saturday. I don't care if JG looks like Tee, Peyton, and Holloway all rolled into one, I want to see the freshmen QBs play 3 possessions each.

I don’t see JG at the helms much longer...

I understand the hesitancy and doubt in replacing him though. If he’s replaced...he’s done...no ifs, ands or buts....meaning he will mentally and physically check out...taking some with him....

But, imo, that’s okay...and needed to get out of this muck...

We aren’t and won’t move forward with this guy at the helm...

Agree completely. Personally I want a change at QB. Just pointing out what you see in the practice threads is a small fraction of what actually happens. Its what the coaches want you to see.

I'll bet he doesn't take JJ with him. I think he'd rather throw to himself.

Shouldnt come as a surprise. People with vad decision-making skills dont make good nfl qbs. But at least he gave us the "eat a w" clip.
