Fulmer's recruits = Crompton and Stephens
As for what he left us on OL: We've got two walkons and a tight end that have started.
Fulmer's last year here saw him sign an OL from Rhea County whose only other offer was Duke. We also got a pretty decent one (although I don't think a lot of big schools went after him until really late in the game) from South Carolina. #3 was a big fat tub of lard from Mississippi that got booted from FSU for being lazy, then had to quit after transferring to Auburn. That's the OL class Fulmer was going to bring in after a terrible OL sank the 2008 season.
Other OL we've signed lately.
2008
Carson Anderson, 2 star son of a booster that will never play at this level. Preston Bailey, admitted to quitting because practice was too hard. Dallas Thomas, not sure what to think of him yet.
2007
Cody Pope, one of only two OL we signed in 2007, when we appeared to have a lot of recruiting momentum. Doesn't look like he can play at this level. Darris Sawtelle was the other guy we signed that year and he will never play football again due to injuries some of which I'm pretty sure occurred in high school.
2006
Ramone Johnson, got the boot for drugs. Darius Myers left because he couldn't hack it. Jaques McLendon, he's been a good one for us this year. Wish he wasn't graduating. We also brought in three star Jarrod Shaw, who's currently getting PT.
2005
Josh McNeil has been a good player, but he won't be playing for us again. Chris Scott is playing well this year, which means we got one good year out of him. Malcom Rawls was a player from Memphis that couldn't rise on the depth chart and transferred.
To help out that crew, we've moved William Brimfield and Vlad Richard from the DL to the OL. Vlad has certainly done well. Additionally, Aaron Douglas has moved from TE and shows some promise. The walkon Sullins brothers have also played admirably. I may have missed someone, but that's pretty much our OL depth right there.
I'd be interested to see what kind of situation Saban's OL was in back in 2007, but I highly doubt it was that bad. They had a future first round pick at LT. And I don't think I've got to get into how who had the better QB.
