I don’t know if CJP is ultimately going to be successful at TN, but he’s not making it easier on himself. What he’s shown thus far this year is more than likely going to negatively impact recruiting, which makes me wonder if he can win with less talent. The further down we sink, the more we’re going to need that kind of coach . . . Mullen at Miss St, Franklin at Vandy, Leach anywhere he’s been. At some point you can’t continue to preach that you need more talent when what you’re doing is going to prevent you from getting that talent upgrade. I hope Pruitt can eventually show that he can coach a less talented team into a winning team. It looks like he’s going to have to.

If Pruitt does not manage to right the ship, I hear Willie Taggert might be available. (eeeeeek!)

Seriously, who would come to this recurring pile of fuming excrement? When hired, folks cried that Pruitt would leave for 'bama. If he truly wants that to happen (and I doubt it), he has to turn this program around. Again, IF he goes, there is an assistant head coach on that staff that could be promo-TEEd. That would help with stability which is a huge need.

The good part is that there is only one way to go. With mediocrity, you can go either way.

The Vols will be fine if the AD will give Pruitt time. The program was in such shape that it seemed like the only thing that could bring order is hiring Phil Fulmer....again. Pruitt's a winner everywhere he's been. I dont think he forgot how to coach. Its just really bad up there right now, and it will take a lot of work for TN to get back to where they matter.

I don’t think he forgot how to coach either because I am not sure he was ever that great to begin with. If he truly was a great defensive mind then he would field a competent defense regardless of talent level. Mason has zero talent at Vanderbilt and they play better defense than UT because he is a great DC, as does Wilcox at Cal. UT hasn’t played a decent game on the defensive side of the ball since UK last year and they weren’t exactly an offensive juggernaut. This team looks absolutely lost on defense a majority of the time.

If a QB is looking for playing time why would they not give the Vols a look?

Anyone still defending this sh$t show that Pruitt continually puts on the field isn’t a fan of the Tennessee Vols Football Program.
