Look, I get it! Lot's of guys win the press conference but this is a business that is all about results. With that said, Coach Pruitt has been the Head Football Coach for a couple of hours. In your opinion, did he win the press conference?

Yes because he speaks to the Joe and Jane vol fan!....he did tonight! I don't need rhetoric and cliches, I want a coach that gets, speaks, and understands the common fan! Loved it!
He can pick his nose and eat glue on the podium for all I care.....just win!

Won't be as important if he loses the games.

Press conferences are not important. He seems like the type of coach that would rather be teaching and coaching than taking stupid questions from the media guys.

I voted yes because wtf else can a Vol fan do. It's done. I don't know that I will take up the call to roll up my sleeves and take to the streets but I can kick back and wait to see what happens.

Well, I suppose it's highly subjective, but he won me over. I think the man is serious about kicking butt and will put a staff together who knows just how to do it. Now let's go Vols! It's time to get junk yard dog mean on the SEC again.

No he's not the best public speaker but that wasn't what he was hired for. He was hired to coach. As long as he can communicate effectively to the players and win football games I don't care how good of a speaker he is at the podium. JUST WIN BABY!!

"Your expectations aren't anywhere as high as mine are aight? Cause I expect, aight, to win every game we play aight?"

That line speaks volumes. Forget his superfluous use of "aight". He isn't talking about rebuilding, he's talking about winning. "I want everyone to roll up their sleeves and go out into the streets with the rest of the SEC." "I want this to be a program that people don't want to have to play."

He didn't use cliche's, I didn't hear crap about bricks. I didn't hear anything about Germans or bamboo. All I heard was win or GTFO.

I can get behind this.

IMHO, the greatest thing about the press conference was his honesty. He is thrilled to be here, he is ready to work....recruiting tonite. Wants to dominate..... and NO stupid cliches'.....all business. Refreshing since we haven't had that in some time. :D

3 things won me over.

He said ‘aight’,
The way he pronounced ‘our’ (1 syllable, not 2)
And knoxvil (not knocks-uh-vhill)

After hearing Butch the last few years and living out of the south for a number of them, it’s always so refreshing to hear a fellow southerner speak.
