Winning the National Championship

How would you feel if UT Wins the 2020/21 National Championship?

With a number of leagues opting out of this Fall Campaign, the NC is going to probably have an asterisk placed by their schools name indicating that other conferences, out of an abundance of caution, sat out this Falls campaign. Soooo, if UT wins the NC this year, how would you feel in light of some very nice conferences having sat on the sidelines???

No asterisk. Doesn't matter who wins. No asterisk. All the important teams except Ohio State are playing. Bama is playing. Clemson is playing. Georgia is playing. Florida is playing. Oklahoma is playing. Tennessee is playing.

So Ohio State is missing. Missing one team, who probably wouldn't make it past the first round even if they made the playoffs, does not add an asterisk to the championship.

So I completely disagree with the whole premise of "guilt" in most of the possible responses. So won't pick a vote, I think.

p.s. "Very nice conferences." Ha. What, Volador, are you from the B10 or something?

Listen dude, I have issue with you saying "all important teams are playing", then you name Tennessee last!!😁

tOSU would have had a very good team this season.
I hate that the players will not get to play.
Their talent level is high enough to play with anyone.
Give credit where due, tOSU is good for college football.

I think it'll go something like:
- if one of our rivals wins the championship, the season doesn't count
- if we win the championship, the season counted the whole time. "Everybody else is a sore loser and jealous of our success during an unprecedented time"

and I'm ok with that lol

It's not good for college football atm. You want more diversity, Bama, Clemson, and Ohio State, and Oklahoma have been terrible for college football. Other programs are gonna have to step up. LSU did last season, some Big 10, Big 12 and ACC programs are going to have to as well.

You gotta pay to play.
First you have to pay more than anyone else in your conference to win the championship.
Coaches , Players, Facilities
Win and you have a shot at the NC.
Most schools don't have the horsepower to field top teams.
There will never be diversity, the rich always get richer.

NC? Ehhh... so the under/over in Vegas is 5 wins for us this season. That's .500. Vegas isn't always spot-on, but normally at least in the ballpark.

A great season for us would be 7 wins. 8 would be phenomenal.

The only team that would even have a chance in the other conferences is Ohio State, which i think is one of the top 3 teams in the Nation, if i had to rank them it would be Ohio State Clemson Bama and the Dawgs, before someone says something about the QB, there Defense has a chance at being the best in the country, i HATE them but there D will be elite.

It would be great to win another Natty. Let's face it there should be no asterisk for 2020. If Bama can claim Natty's for years they barely fielded a team then any team that wins in 2020 does not deserve an asterisk.

It’s not like anyone from the Big10 or Pac12 we’re going to win it anyway. And it means we had to beat even more quality SEC teams to do so.

Guilt? No. If anything even more pride.
