A little ray of sunshine for the negavols out there that feel that Deborg is the worst OC ever, that hung 45 pts on a Bud Foster defense (I don't care that their O gave the ball to us over and over that's still good), the feeling that our oline is nothing more than a picket fence (kinda agree with that one), and Bob Shoop was the worse hire since Dooley...we currently have the third longest active winning streak in the nation behind bammer and San Diego St.

Keep winning Vols, and let the haters hate!

You don't mind that we put the win streak into perspective do you? All the teams in that streak are not world-beaters. Yes, I'm very grateful for the Ws but let's not put more hype out there. I don't know about you but I haven't seen that East Championship team everyone has been led to believe. We don't need more struggles before SEC play and they better get their act together because SEC teams aren't going to be cupcakes.

But I wouldn't call App St and VT cupcakes either

North Texas is really the only cupcake we beat in this streak. I know the other 7 range from terrible to decent. But still. 8 wins in a row is impressive regardless

While cupcakes is perhaps too strong, I get it. However the fact remains, it's the longest streak since 98. To me that is a good sign regardless of opponents that can string together wins. Hopefully it also means the days are long gone when we were always on the bowl bubble at the end of the year and we would get beat by a cupcake or two. When we had to worry if we could get past Vandy or UK to make it to a bowl. Yuck.

Winning streaks feel good. Beating people your supposed to beat feels good. Now let's beat someone we aren't supposed to...

To me it's not putting on more hype but stating a fact which shows the direction this program is headed. Now let's take care of business...

I need to have confidence in our team--I guess I am just so used to us getting our teeth kicked in when adversity hits from the past 10-12 years.

I am very proud of our team. I really don't have anything negative to share this morning.

In 1998 our offense was very inconsistent until about mid season. Thankfully though, the defense bailed them out many times. Let's not give up on this team yet. the O-Line will improve as the season goes on and they gel.

We beat the #12 team in the country during this streak too.

Not taking away anything you are saying but Northwestern was not really the 12th ranked team in the nation. But the beat down was a lot of fun to watch. We Big 10 football in its place for the 2nd straight year.

Same team that has started this season 0-2 with losses to Western Michigan and Illinois State?

No. I'm 100% certain we played last seasons's team. That could beat Stanford.
UT 2007 -10 wins.
2008 - 5 wins. It happens.

No one that we are ahead of on that list plays A top-25 team every week. They play their schedule just like we do.
I have the same concerns with this offense as everyone else. I have zero interest in trying to take something away from the guys - that they earned.

The same team with different players at key positions. The one that was ranked 12th last year because of the somewhat impressive win streak? Yes

Not the totally different players team of this year!
