I just don’t care about the series record. I view sports very much like I view other combat sports. All that matters is who has the belt. (Who won the last one) you’re either the reigning champion or you’re not.

boxing is hanging on by the skin of its nuts because of the legacies left by former champions, and the vague hope a current fighter can sort of measure up. While its true almost nobody would remember floyd Patterson if not for Mike Tyson, their similarities and their connection through Cus, I personally would be much less interested in boxing if I didn't know who Floyd Patterson was.
