Windy's football discussion thread.

Been watching the Syracuse game some more cause.......well what else am I gonna do? I will have to say first time live I was all about Joey. Erebody didn't know what are situation was with losing Nico, no one was sure who was going to be the starter most of the summer. We all breathed a huge sigh of relief based on the game. He didn't have to be a star, he just had not to F-Up to make most of VolNation happy. He's got touch on the deep ball we haven't seen since Hooker...and I'm mostly happy. I will say theres a few things I have noticed post game, and I hope some kinks get worked out before the 13th. with all that said...

My BIG take away from watching the game 4-5 times now is the real MVP wasn't Aguilar. We lost someone else in the offseason, and that was Sampson. We all knew Heupel would scheme ANY player into holes, and we knew we had some decent backs in the stable. But I mean I think it's possible we have upgraded at RB as well As much as I love Sampson, Bishop was a MAN among boys that game. Doesn't hurt Desean's got 2 inches and 10 pounds of more attack either. Really watch this game and watch Bishop. He's power running, legs moving, not stopping. He's got NO time for stupid sports bling, cause he don't need it for north and south. He's not a one hit or even a two hit stop, and he absolutely assaulted some defenders with that stiff arm. On top of all that wether it's coaching, IQ, Heupels evil genius schemes....a mix of all of those....(and all those unamed big uglies that are actually smart this year, and doing offensive line black magic) But he's patient seeing the holes, and when he comitts he comitts completely. I'm telling yah Bishop is the MVP in my opinion. At least on the offense. Watch him Run again.....and he wasn't even the top stats.

I know this weekend will be a bit of yawn before Jawjaw.......but if nothing else I hope to See Bishop rack up more yards, and give more praise to God. (I saw that too DeSean your mama raised you right!) Because why not..even if they sell out on the run and leave the pass open Desean is still gonna get his 5 every time he touches it. And he's not our Star...literally. I know Star Thomas is still the star and leading the stats and experience, but what got me excited about Bishop is when a play DID not go well, and Bishop just made it work anyway. He played with heart, and is a play MAKER. Watch that kid! Bishop and Thomas as dual threat makes me very very happy. These two RB with this O-Line and Aguilers Deep touch........we have good season I think offensively. My only unknowns is the receivers, still waiting to see a play maker in space. There were a couple of jukes by one of them..I forget which, but so far I haven't seen a break out reciever, and interference or not a few incompletes should have been complete. But all the same this Offense is BALANCED.

Also I feel bad not being able to call out some of the O-line yet by name, being big and ugly myself I feel the line on both sides most....but as a unit, man those offensive schemes were NASTY.

Still don't know what any of that means on Jawjaw...we all remember when they just locked Hooker down. WR's have to show they can win man to man at a high level in two weeks.

Disney/ABC/ESPN isn’t that reliable with their CFB scheduling.
It was May actually. They announced the 1st 3 game times.

And this was June 11th:

Two non-conference home games for Tennessee will air on SEC Network. The Volunteers host UAB on Sept. 20 at 12:45 p.m. ET and will take on New Mexico State for Homecoming on Nov. 15 at 4:15 p.m.

Five of Tennessee's SEC games have been flexed – at Mississippi State (Sept. 27), Arkansas (Oct. 11), at Alabama (Oct. 18), Oklahoma (Nov. 1) and at Florida (Nov. 22). Flex kickoff times are slated between 3:30-4:30 p.m. or 6-8 p.m.

The Vols' road game at Kentucky on Oct. 25 will be in the night window – between 6-8 p.m. Nov. 29 Senior Day in Neyland Stadium versus Vanderbilt is set for the afternoon window – between 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Aguilar has got to work on his accuracy. against Georgia some of his passes were easy picks. there were at least two times our WR were having to play DB to keep Syracuse from ending up with a pic.
