My mother coached a girls team in the late 60s/ early 70s. Full court. Odd. Gonna have to ask her about that.
Which state? Our PE had us playing half-court in Virginia (mid-60's) and *I think* Hawaii (maybe 1967.) I do remember having to stop dead at the half-court line, waiting for the ball to come back to us. So visualize scrambling around, doing this and that, and then the ball leaves your area, and you just stand there.

I wish the Commercial Appeal article had included dates (geeze, people, IS THAT SO FREAKING HARD?!), because there were a ton of changes going on in the late 60's.

Tennessee. I used to be a practice dummy. Had a good time.

Well, that’s a disappointing start.
Is it just me (probably), or does it seem that in recent years, both men’s and women’s teams seem to spend a lot of time and games gelling? Shouldn’t they have gotten into some sort of familiarity and rhythm by the time the season starts?

I don’t know if there was some sort of recent change in the rules for pre-season practice time.
