As I said in the post above the one you quoted, "on paper". Tennessee losing to Texas in the SEC-Big XII challenge hurts. The middle of the SEC beat each other up week in and week out. Tennessee hit a slump to open SEC play. As I said, no one has a better resume, but the losses to Bama, LSU and going 0-2 against the Big XII hurt.

HOWEVER. they are supposed to invoke the human element of hot teams right now. IMPOSSIBLE to ignore Tennessee there. Tennessee even played great ball in all those losses, they just couldn't buy a basket for 3-4 weeks.

those 2 Big 12 losses hurt because they could easily have been wins at the end, but the Arizona win, as long ago as it was still looks good -- Ive seen LSU as a 6 seed - not sure how this Lunardi comes up with his choices

CBS has bumped TN to a two seed. replaced Nova. That surprises me. I think they either bump UK or Purdue

Definitely a struggle for them. Which is weird with all the guards they have. They need Fulky and/or Plavsic corralling desperation passes at half court.

What really kills then imo is still the fast break. They have no means of stopping it.

Every time I see us struggle with the press I ask myself "Do we have anyone who can toss that round ball 45 feet or more?". If we're gonna turn it over, I'd rather it be the other side of the court and not under their basket. Geesh

A few years ago I heard a mouth piece on TV explain that teams who press a lot do it to overcome their own lack of height. Really?

Perhaps I am a negavol because I’m neutral to Memphis and have no ill will against Penny. I think Kelvin Sampson is total scum fwiw, so you can guess who I’m cheering for in that game

I grew up admiring Nolan Richardson’s 40 Minutes of Hell. Imo, a good press can screw up good half court offenses. Tennessee has a great half court offense. They move the ball around and know how and where to find the open man. The press creates imbalance to that set offense, chews up shot clock and creates disarray. Their biggest flaw against the press, again imo, is simply inbounding the ball. When they do inbound, they’re typically already in a corner. In trouble before there even start like that
