Windy's basketball discussion thread

Musselman must’ve called Nolan Richardson at half time. Tennessee had no answer for the attacking/double team defense that Arky employed in the second half. Couple that with the (legit) foul trouble and Tennessee had zero ability to establish anything inside. The Vols played nervous even with the lead and caused lots of unforced turnovers that will go in the stat line as forced. It’s incredibly tough to rebound long rebounds anyway, but ESPECIALLY when your bigs had to sit because of all their early dumb (but again legit) fouls. Those bricks turned into second and third opportunities and either buckets or more fouls.

But Tennessee goes to Tampa as a two seed. Arkansas has been one of the hottest teams in the nations for over a month so any win against them is a good win. I guess in a way the troll in this thread that I’ve mocked and blocked since January was right. Tennessee went undefeated at home and will be playing for it all regardless of what happens in Tampa.

It was like Barnes told them at the Under 8 timeout to hold the ball 35 feet from the basket and not move until 7-8 seconds remained on the shot clock.
They weren’t effective prior to that either minus about a 2 minute stretch I’m going to say around the 11 minute mark. They couldn’t get past the double teams and if they actually did, Ziegler and Chandler couldn’t go up against Arky’s size down low.

My trip got switched when Chandler was nearly free to the rim one on one, under 5 to go and pulled it back out to set an offense.

Mine was within the first three minutes of the second half. They couldn’t get the ball inside. Then Arky hit back to back threes, followed by two ridiculous turnovers.
I eased up when Chandler and Ziegler hit those big threes even as they were well defended, but imo the offense stunk it up the whole second half

Musselman is a great coach, with a great pedigree. He’s going too build something special at Arky unless a blue blood steals him first.
