Well y'all -- it comes down to this weekend. Will the Vol faithful be in rapture or will it be Volmageddon?

This is not Spurrier and Wuerffel; it's not Tebow and Meyer. It's not been anywhere near that in a long time.

We should be talking about extending our streak to 3, not ending their streak at 11.

I don't care how we've played so far. It's begged the same questions that's been nagging at those of us who pay attention for at least two years now BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER NOW. The season begins on Saturday.

There will never be a better opportunity. NEVER.

Win and all is forgiven. Lose and GTFO. I like you as a person Butch, I really do. But stubbornness and surrounding yourself with Mahoney, Azza, and not letting DeBord toughen up your system means you aren't ready for prime time. If you can't win in Neyland against this version of the Gators with Team 120, it's Gruden-time.

It ends this weekend. Something will, anyway.

I tend to agree. Its time to put up or shut up. We were a preseason top 10 team and have yet to look like a top 25 team imo. The team seems to have regressed as a whole. We all know the talent is there. Its time for him to show he can coach em up.

I agree. It's time for results and not excuses. Losing to anyone 11 years in a row is unacceptable in a program of this magnitude!

I'm putting all of my Butch eggs in this one basket...fair or not.

It's what they came to Knoxville for. We are passionate and football is important to most of us in this great state. This game has been botched 2 yrs in a row. 3 times in a row is unacceptable. Mediocrity and constant losing to rivals doesn't fly with most of us "MegaVols"

Butch gets 2017 regardless, but the offensive coaches will need to go after this year if the unthinkable happens. When Blackburn gets here at the end of the season he will see to it. GBO!

Dooley got 2012 after the UK loss but we all saw how the players quit when they realized he wasn't winning the SEC. If Butch doesn't win the East this year he has to win the SEC next year to keep his job.

I agree. He's not going anywhere, but next year better make some noise, if not this year. Flame away, but I think next year's team will be a better team, regardless...

If we drop the next four and bring Butch back, our opponents will be laughing at us and rightfully so.

If Butch cant win the east with the way the east is down, he needs to be shown the door ASAP. He cant win it this year, he will never win it

Yeah and the East ain't staying down forever either. It'll be a lot more competitive next year I bet

Thats a hard pill to swallow for some people

Fulmer run roughshod over teams like this and this team should too. Only thing holding them back is coaching

I hate to say it because I like Butch, but OP is right in that if Jones can't beat THIS Florida team with THIS Tennessee team, he likely never will. If we lose to UF AND don't make it to Atlanta, pack the bags.

Who says a new coach is the right thing.....Texas, USC, Auburn have all learned a new coach isn't the answer. Butch is the right guy he just needs to have the nuts to get a new OC

But there lies the problem. Butch runs Butch's offense and thats that. He believes in his system. The Debored hire was made because Debored knew the system. He wont venture out passe his comfort zone.
