Wilson Interview - Now is the Time

I'll never forget the look in Big Als eyes on game day. What a Beast he was at LB. I remember the hit he put on QB Doug Johnson during the 97 Gator game in Neyland.

I remember Raynoch Thompson saying something like, you better hurry up and hit somebody and keep moving, because if you hesitated, Al was gonna be arriving and blow up everything when he got there.

If our Team leaders keep pushing everyone to work even harder and hold them all accountable like Big Al did in 1998 then the sky is the limit for Team 120.

Big Al knows it and I hope he visits our Vols often and keeps pushing and motivating them.

Team 120, Vols Team of Destiny...VFL...GBO!!!

Hope hope hope hope hope hope hope hope hope hope.... And some just can't handle that

Oh god, gimme a break.

We all hope this team wins it all. But you can't say Al Wilson comparing Team 120 to the '98 team isn't another log on the Big Orange hype bonfire. It's not like I don't want to happen; I'm just being objective.

There's no use in trying to stop the hype train now. My post was less, "Someone stop that train!" and more like, "Oh wow, look at that thing go!"

My apologies; I misinterpreted your tone. Hype has become a battle cry for those who want to belittle a building process that has been a long, slow climb (and MAY be nearing completion). Hype away

It's all good. No harm, no foul. :hi:

I think we're all just ready for the season. Go Big Orange, and congrats on your 500th post.

Especially with Billy Ratliff blowing up their tackle Burleson. Mistakes happen by them, when our guys are making plays. :loco:

It's my understanding that he told Tee that the D was gonna get the ball back, and did.

That's what it means to....

Jump higher Vols.

Nice! The passion and effort that Big Al played with, is something that is missing from some players today.

I keep seeing this pop up, and I think it's unfair.

Winning a title is more than one play.

Agreed, I keep seeing this pop up and I think it's stupid. Had we lost that game we'd have dropped from 1st to 6th (at worst) in the BCS using the BCS formula at the time. We'd have been behind UCLA, K. State, Florida St, Florida and Texas A&M. FLorida lost the next weekend to go to 9-2. Texas A&M lost the weekend after to go to 10-2. Kansas State and UCLA both lost on championship weekend. They both finished with one loss but with the strength of schedule component at that time we'd have easily surpassed them as the best of the 1 loss teams. FSU would have been #1 and we'd have been #2. Only difference is we'd have won the championship in the Fiesta Bowl wearing away colors instead of the home Orange. Undefeated Season? No...But National Champions all the same? YES. Why does nobody understand this???
