Amen. Add on top of that the difference in pay and you have a much more lucrative job. And this makes a move to UGA a lateral move...if not a step down. CEO has a hand in the entire defense. The situation is pretty much this: Monte DC #1 and CEO DC #2. Would CEO consider it a demotion to take a cut in pay to go to UGA for the DC position?? I would put my money on yes. Like I said earlier, Cotton is simply arguing for the sake of arguing...when everything is considered, it is an obvious step down.

Orgeron already has the Defensive line,Recruiting coordinator, and Assistant Head coach positions at Tennessee! DC would be a stepdown for him!

I hate these threads. I know at SOME POINT every coach here will be gone BUT is it really necessary to continously speculate about them leaving? :p It's more like gloom and doom here all the time. Why not just enjoy them while their here:rock:

With that said, the job offers are sure to come if this staff continues on a positive path and wins. I just hope the offers are always to late. :neener2:

Also, I just don't see CMK coaching when he is done here and I can't see why CLK would like to get back into the NFL. As long as he puts the effort into recruiting the best staff and players across the country he would never have to worry about job security again. As best I can tell he has recruited very well so far just to have a 6-5 team and I think the best is yet to come.:dance2:

I thought Lane said he was done with the NFL for good when he first came here. I really think he is devoted and committed to getting this football program back into the national spotlight and competing for SEC Championships and National Championships.

I agree..not to mention Georgia will continue being overrated every year even with the talent they have. Im so glad Richt is gonna be their for at least another year.

Eh...if you hire a good staff, eventually somebody will come trying to poach them. You protect them when you can, replace them when you can't. It is when you have a bunch of guys that nobody else wants that you need to start worrying.

Speculation is the favorite passtime of internet forums. It is what we do.

This whole topic cracks me up. I repeat....CMR is NOT going to come after CEO. They are philosophically too opposite. Somebody else may take a shot...but it won't be the pastor from Athens.

You people need a life or a girlfriend. Willie will be let go. UGA is not down and out. We win 10 games a year for 8 years, lose two #1 picks and a #2 pick in the draft, and slip to 7-5, and we are DONE????????

1. Richt would have to do this 3-4 years in a row to be Fulmer. If Smart is the DC, our defense will be better next year.

2. We return 12 OLmen, 3 TE's, 4 RB's and 6 WR's on offense. Murray will be the next good QB under Richt. The offense will be fine!! Green, Shockley, Stafford did well. Murray is very good.

3. With a better offense, and a better defense b/c of the new DC, PLUS the schedule is easier (we had the 3rd most difficult one in the nation this year), we will be back to 10-2,,11-1.

--UT is in Athens (and YOUR QB isn't even on campus yet)

--GTech is in Athens.

--Unlike playing Ar. State, Ok State, and G tech as non-conference this year, we have two patsies next year in La Lafayette and Idaho State, so we will have more games mixed in to heal.


You people ned to be worried about the quality of person you are recruiting up there--it WILL catch up to you. Our worst offenses are immature things like riding a scooter on susupended license.

keep telling yourself that like UT fans did for a few years. We watched and can now recognize the signs but UGA fans are just too close. You will fall behind GT and become an average team in the SEC. Might sneak up and beat someone but will never been a major player until the pastor is out as HC. Sorry

You forgot to mention you haven't come close to playing for a national championship since 1980. Pastor Richt will always be able to get your squad into Sunday School, unfortunately he can't and won't get you into the championship game in the foreseeable future. 3 decades without being in the title game much less winning one is where UGA & Richt are and will remain. I hope he stays until he's a 120 at least.

2001 had only 8 wins.

Therefore everything you say means nothing with that major mistake.

Aaron Murray will not be the next great UGA QB...how many have their been anyways?

I've seen him play and he'd be a better fit for GT's system than UGA's.

Kirby Smart won't be going home only to see Richt and the entire staff canned within the next year or so. If Smart leaves BAMA, he leaves for a HC job.
