Is this guy writing for BR legit. Or, is he dropping in names for clicks? Id like to hear a real veteran NBA scout break down thots on GW. I'd love to see him go #1 overall ... after next year. :-D

Sam Vecenie of “The Athletic” website has Admiral at 21 and Grant at 32. Mr. Vecenie is pretty well regarded in his evaluations. I also asked him if he thought Grant should come back for his senior season. He said that if the Vols make the Elite 8 or FF, he didn’t think that Grant would have anything more to prove by returning next year.

While I agree he would have nothing more to prove, I would see him following Coach Barnes advice. I don’t know which direction that would send him, but I know that the immense respect they have for each other would certainly play heavily in Williams decision.
I hope we see him in orange next year, but that is purely for selfish reasons.

Just let me say, if my thunder have a chance to draft admiral (don't think grant goes to the
Nba) and pass, i will rage.

Gotta agree with you Dal, I can't see Grant in the league. He would need to develop an arsenal of jump shots to have a chance imo. It's possible, but I would be surprised.

I would be stoked about Admiral inthe league period.

Should've clarified, don't think he goes this year. If he works more on his perimeter game, he could be a late first round pick next hear. Would be a mistake for him to leave early.

To me, that's obvious. At this point, I'm basically not giving Grant a realistic shot at all. I very well could be wrong, and I wouldn't even be mad about it lol.

What this says to me is if I'm a highly regarded recruit and I can pass the rigorous litmus test that CRB has for recruits I'm calling him today and trying to get a scholarship to Tennessee. Of course Rick has been putting people in the league for a while now just glad he's doing it at Tennessee....with my limited knowledge about the NBA (by design) I would think at this point AS has a much stronger chance to make it than does GW because of the size and position he can play...but obviously hope both make it someday and are massively successful...JMO

I'm surprised this mock has Williams going before Schofield. I don't think Williams' game translates to the NBA nearly as well as Schofield's.

That's why I asked if this guy had any historical legitimacy or if he's just click baiting his market. I think it's the latter.

Grant is bigger and more skilled than P.J. Tucker was at Texas. Tucker's game has grown a lot since that time, but Rick compares Grant favorably to him nonetheless.

I could maybe see him getting drafted, but I think he'd have very limited opportunities. Of course he's added to his game from last year, will see what he can do going into next. If he were quicker off the dribble I'd say he would make it.

You must mean quicker off the dribble when out on the perimeter. His spin move near the hoop is quick as lightning.

Like to see Grant do what Admiral do at the end of last year...that is not hire an agent and get a NBA evaluation. I would hope that he would come back for his Sr season and work hard on shooting treys.
