William. Just wanted you to know, if you prowl these forums, you are one low human being for what you said to Doc on the show this morning. Its a damn sports talk show and you call in saying over and over that drug addicts get what they deserve. You just had to keep asking him over and over if drug addicts get what they
deserve until he finally broke down and said he didnt think his son deserved to die. All i wanted to do at that moment was get my hands around your neck and choke you out. William you are trash.

Did anyone else hear this jerk off?

I didn't get to hear it, but TOS has a thread going about the same topic and it looks like that guy pissed off a lot of people this morning.

What did the caller act like after Doc said that about his son?

I didn't hear it but that is low. I hope William doesn't experience drug addiction himself or anyone "lucky" enough to be close to him but if he does...I have NO sympathy for his grieving process. That's something that might send you to hell if I'm at the pearly gates.

He acted like he was trying his best to get to Doc and really hurt him and by the sound of Docs voice i think he accomplished what he set out to do. He sounded like a real cold SOB.

A lot of people do not understand that a drug addiction is a disease. Most people that are addicted to drugs want to quit and get clean but the drug has already taken over their life and body. When you are talking to a person addicted to drugs, you are talking to the drug not the person. People want to act like drug addicts are scum. They don't realize that the person inside doesn't want to live like that. It's truly sad what that guy said on the radio, but it actually does not surprise me. I believe most people think the same way and do not have the knowledge to know better

Who is Doc?
Who is Doc's son?
How did Doc's son die?
Why should we care?

TIA, I have no idea who these people are but I want to be outraged.

Just trying to understand this, so Doc had a son who died from drug abuse?

Agree, no need for personal attacks. However, the DJ&H show, well, the entire 99.1 lineup, is trash radio. AM1180 with Erik Ainge, Chris Treece, and Rucker/Swain is much more informative, and it doesn't really have that "oh my God, why do they keep talking about this" feel to it.

A little over a year ago, i think, Mickey lost his son. I do not think it was formally announced how he died, but he did have problems with drug use and that was likely part of what caused his death. Mickey Dearstone is Doc. He's the morning talk show host on Sports Animal. He also is the voice of the Lady Vols.
For someone to call in and goad him like that if what i read from the OP is correct, then I think we have no place for a guy like that.

Was there a conversation about it on the radio? Or did this guy just randomly called up and started talking about drug users?

I did not listen this am (usually I do), glad I missed it.

NO ONE deserves the type of treatment and public humilaton that sort of thing causes.

The idiot who called in should be banned from the radio. And if anyone see's him just pick up a telephone, they shoud whip his arse

If I had to guess, "Doc" said drug users get what they deserve, and a caller called in and turned it around on him. Speculation.

Anyways, why didn't they just hang up on the caller?

I think as a young person I may have had the same attitude as this SOB.
But, life has a way of teaching us.
Having watched my youngest son fall prey to the affliction, throwing away a college degree, a job that would have set him up for the future and eventually spending the last 10 years of his life in and out of prison, I have learned to sympathize with any who are afflicted and those who bear the anguish of watching someone close to them destroy themselves.
Life will educate this guy.

Life does have a funny, cruel way of doing that.

Don't know the answer to the first 2 question's, but it's always annoying when one person asks a question by using the collective term "we" when he/she is the only one asking the question. But looking at your handle, it makes sense as to you being annoying and all.

I remember when Mick was a producer on WNML, but I didn't realize his death was drug-related.

Let this idiot be another reason for you all to just stop listening to that show. There is not a single redeeming quality to it.
