Im taking fouls.

As soon as someone here mentioned he reminded them of Stanley Asumnu I knew why we landed him.

Way too early to judge what kind of player he could become. He has the highest ceiling on the team. But right Now he is a long way from that ceiling.

Give him a chance. Chef Barnes just put the ingredients in the pot. Let it simmer, and when it is served, VOILA!

Pons will be a great piece for us next year. Just needs time to acclimate and develop a little bit.

Pons faced a lot of hurdles toward being a major contributor as a FR. Language barrier, developing offensive game, learning the American game, etc. He would have made an ideal RS candidate. Realistically, he just has too much developed talent ahead of him right now. His time will come.

Barnes trusts him enough to put him in the game. He's got off the charts athletic ability, and specifically mentioned his two important minutes of play last night as important during post game on espn. He's getting him experience to give some breathers later in the season and build towards more minutes next year. Getting Fulkerson, Pons, Johneson and Williams important playing time this year will pay off in spades next year, when Barnes will be able to legitimately go 11, and maybe 12 deep in rotation consistently, especially if we snag the Simons kid! Things looking up for Barnes

Couple of games ago he got a rebound and jumped straight up with NO drop step and dunked it like he was on a 8 ft goal. I'm looking forward to his first shot at a break away. He's crazy athletic.

This team is totally stacked. What a very pleasant surprise from Barnes. With continued development of our frontcourt, we could very well have a final four team next year.

I am totally convinced that both Alexander and Walker could be all-SEC next season. Can't wait to see PONS and JOHNSON next year with extended minutes. Gonna be hard to keep all of them happy. Still disappointed in Fulky though. I don't think he will be a starter or may not even play extended minutes at UT ever.

As a whole, I agree...but think Barnes does a stellar job of saying "everyone is a starter"...said it last night in post game. But, he doesn't just say it, he does it. If a player doesn't practice well and within their role, they play less. If everyone's got their role and plays to it, everyone has talent for PT.

It’s ok for a guy not to play much in his freshman year guys, c’mon. No need to call a dude out when we’re already a top 25 team with our guys who are ready.

Yes. He is insane. Have you seen his dunks in warm-ups? He takes off from the free throw line! Seriously. Come to a game at TBA and watch the guys. This is a special team!

In that FIBA Under 18(?) Tournament, Pons had several, OMG! dunks, including several that could have been made into posters, with defenders trying and failing to defend the dunk. Pons has NBA athleticism and if he sticks around, I have no doubt, Barnes will develop him into a NBA draft pick.

His increased minutes as of late and the 3 pointer last night give me hope that he's going to be more of a contributor this season.....I'm changing my pick to more points.
