Will you be able to enjoy our rise back to the top?

I NEVER said tolerate losing. I took exception to your win at all costs statement. Kiffin had UT in the pressure cooker from the day he stepped on campus. The only reason that the debacle with the UT Hostesses didn't blow up on us is because of the way he left here and the fact that we eventually got rid of the buffoon that was MH. If Dooley doesn't win at least 8 this year, I think he is likely to be gone. I am not Mike Hart, I don't know what he and CDD have worked out. I do know if we hire someone of Petrino's character, I won't darken the door at Neyland stadium ever again or at least until he and the AD that hires him is gone.

Can you please point out where I said anything about winning at all costs? Oh, wait, you can't, because I didn't. I simply said winning would not be an issue. Kiffin would have the east in a stranglehold. Whether or not UT would be in trouble is open for debate, but with the way he had recruiting rolling along, UT was well on its way back to the top of the food chain.

He has issues with truth and reality. Hell he said I was supporting your post and this very well maybe the 1st time I've ever responded to a post of yours.

I don't think you and I have ever had any interaction on here.

Wrong, see above Troll post. Stop thinking, you don't do it well. I wouldn't trade CDD for Spliffin or Petrino. I would hope that you would retract your statement about not caring. I am sure there are several "coaches" that would love to come here for 4 - 5 years, satisfy YOUR and Volbeef's craving to win and then leave us for the NCAA to eat alive. No thanks, I will take a class act and some losses before I wouldn't sacrifice The UT to the likes of usc, the u, and the F*** eyes.

wth is ^this.so you will take a 7-5 or 6-6 Tn team to so you can say we have a class act ? it would be different is you was making any sense.Im not retracting nothing.I dont care who coaches Tn as long as they are winning and why should you ?

i dont think dooley will ever be able to put it together but after sitting on the beach this week between bama and uk fans i hope we win every sec game, i even had a bama fan explain to me how the university of troy put more players in the nfl than tn did last year. this is rock bottom for me so anywhere seems to be up compared to the last 2 seasons.

this is true but nobody here will ever admit it, they blame him and fulmer for a team thats 3-4 years separated from either one. i look forward to the day when there isnt a single player left with any ties to either coach so all those bs excuses are put to rest.

So many people so bitter..

You reap what you sow.. everyone wanted Fulmer gone without understanding what the consequences would be..

Now we have a good portion that wants Dooley gone.. again not understanding what the consequences will be...

It will kill any recruiting we have, create more divides between current players(i.e. Dooley's guys), we will have attrition since our players can x-fer without sitting a year.. setting us back another 3-4 years at least.

Is it not better to give Dooley a fair chance before inviting all this upon ourselves again?

what rule allows a player to transfer without having to sit out a year? the only rule that allows that is the USC rule or a wavier.
the last time I checked winning helps recruiting and losing gets you 5th or 6th at best in the SEC.
If Dooley wins then people will not have a problem with him but he has yet to win.

Because his loyalty is to DD instead of the program.

So it's better to keep a guy who has shown he is a loser? 5 years as a head coach and 4 of those 5 were losing seasons. Hmmmmmm

I can't speak for either the OL or DL coach (I guess Dooley did the best he could, considering the circumstances...if his own job wasn't in such jeopardy, he probably could have done better), but otherwise, I think he hired some good coaches.

Jay Graham's addition will probably prove to be huge. I think the worst that can honestly be said about Dooley is that he is yet unproven as a HC. He's had some bad breaks here...losses in 2010 that should have been wins. Injuries to two of our best players last year, when it appeared we were finally going to come out of the doldrums. Those would have been huge momentum shifts for him, if we had a little more luck.

Although I don't like his past tendency to throw players under the bus, in front of the media, and his orange dog/red dog antics, he has steadily brought in much needed talent...and that's more than could be said for Fulmer during his last few seasons.

Let's quit trying to antagonize those that don't like Dooley. I think most of those are withholding their criticisms, and taking a wait and see approach, this season.

Immediately following the Kentucky debacle, I too was calling for his head, but soon thereafter realized that it's probably better to stay the course at this point. He hasn't just brought in enough talent to finally compete...he has an Ace up his sleeve...in Hunter, Rodgers and Patterson. He recruited them all, so lets all shut up, and see just how fast this ride will go.

I'm sorry, you really need to get to the 1st grade before you tackle those two syllable words there beefie. You and your buddy said win....period. Your buddy said CLK would have us a bunch more wins which you basically agreed with. My point is, I would rather have a program NOT on probation (which is where we were headed had CLK not left and had we not fired Hamilton), than one that wins 11 games a year for 4 or 5 years and then vacates a bunch and winds up on probation with post season bans. There is middle ground. But a win at all costs attitude is what gets you a Lane Wreck like we had. I know, there are a bunch of big words here, but if you get your dictionary out, you MAY be able to keep up.

1. USC just emerged from a 2 year post season ban. How bad is that hurting them? And who gives a hell if they had to vacate a few wins. Everybody knows who won the 04 BCS title, whether the AA recognizes it or not.

2. There is no reason to believe that Coach Kiffin would have had us on probation. No AA violations tied to him either here or at USC.

Is our strength of schedule declining? Georgia State, Akron, Troy, Western Kentucky, South Alabama, Chattanooga, UAB, and UConn don't sound particularly appealing to me unless we're trying to goose our winning percentage or win the Sun Belt Conference.

I hope we still play at Oregon next year in a nationally-televised game and kick the sh!t out of them!

By jumping on the bandwagon with TNVols72, you, by proxy acquire the win at all costs label. Sorry if you don't agree, but that is how I see it.

Because I care about The UT as a whole and not being able to call a friend somewhere else and wag my P**** at him.

Nice post.

Question for the nega's/fire Dooley crowd.

When we are smacking the SEC in the mouth this year.. winning game after game as we climb back to the top.

Will you be able to enjoy it and admit you were wrong? Or will you still be posting negative statements and trolling your fellow fans?

I know if it doesn't happen and we have another horrible season, I will be able to admit I was wrong. Apologize for defending CDD these past couple years.

I just know that this is the year, and I just wonder if when Dooley proves he deserves to be where he is at, if any of you will have the balls to eat your crow and post an apology for jumping the gun.

When we destroy Florida, what will the feeling in your gut be? will it be pure elation and joy? or will it just make you even more bitter when you realize Dooley will be here for awhile?

Dooley would have to win 10 or 11 games for me to change my tune and admit I was wrong. I fully expect him to win 8 and think he should win 9 with this team.. But 8 or 9 (maybe even 7 depending on where Hart draws the line) is just delaying the inevitable imo.. It will be just like Mike Shula's 3rd season where he won 10 then came back down to earth the next year and was fired.

Translation: you're making stuff up and talking out of your ass. Thanks for confirming that. Here's to everybody getting a trophy this season.

Hart has said multiple times that there is not a number of wins that decides Dooley's fate. It's about improvement.

I'm with you. 8-9 wins this year. Lose all the good players on offense and they're right back to struggling to make a bowl game. If the recruiting were going better there might be a positive , but that seems to be going to wrong way. I'd fire him unless it's a exceptional year. As you said giving him more time to delay the inevitable is unacceptable. Fans are feed up with mediocre, trash football. Tennessee deserves better.
