Agree. I think like most first games we'll see a lot of "vanilla." Dobbs will make some short throws, but by and large I think today will primarily offer the o-line an opportunity to get some work.
If all goes well, maybe QD will get a lot of time in the second half. Any passing game we might have will probably be saved for BaB. Good TV coverage then---nice way to advertise the need to continue to build up a roster of talented receivers.
I just hope we see Dobbs with under 5 designed carries, I don't wanna see him running draws all game long risking injury. Give the ball to 6 and 1 and lets get out of there healthy.
I hope its closer to 50/50. This would be a great opportunity to see if we have a down field passing game. Not to mention build some confidence and give teams something to have to think about.
We will do a lot of both. I hope a lot of the running is after catching a prefect pass. This would create a lot of headaches for the defenses in our future games.
We will run more I think, but I bet DeBord wants to get our passing game clicking as soon as possible. I hope we take a few shots deep to Pwilly / others. I want to see how well we've developed in the passing game.
