By no means to ignore the rest of our secondary. Which I think we have a bunch SEC voters will eat crow for not preselecting maybe the whole unit. But I think we will be in for a treat by our CBs. A treat in the form of what will be two ball-hawking, head-hunting, thunder hitting players. That will be B. Thompson and A. Taylor. I'm anxious to see these two in games. They got de-high schooled last season. Now they're smarter, more experienced, and in payback mode. One, A. Taylor, I think mentioned how embarrassed they were, especially against Grier in the WVA game. I believe they will be a big part of our coming strange sights and implausible wonders season. I'm so excited, I've been fixing things around the house Shirley has asked, begged, and threatened me to get done for 2.5 years now. Not sure if it's to make sure I get no nagging during game times or I have so much Vol-fever and the only immediately available cure is work aspirin. Looking forward to lots of BOOM.

I hope you are right. I don't have any question our CBs are better than they have been in years. The only thing that concerns me is that if we can't control the LOS and get pressure on the QB, the CBs will be handicapped.

Ball hawks and hard hitters yes. Head hunters no. They can’t give the refs a reason to send them to the dressing room. You know what I mean ??

Enjoy these two while we have them for the next two years cause they'll be leaving early to go play on Sundays.
I have a feeling they will want to go for the Natty their senior year. If not Pruit will reload.

Head hunters? Those days are long gone. Receivers can run around back there nowadays with impunity. It's a different sport now.

Good post. But I hope we are recruiting a Fabulous Four behind our Dynamite Duo. And it seems we are. We need quality depth in the secondary....depth that lasts and grows.

Tell Shirley Goober says "hey."

Here again PRESEASON !!!! I understand the excitement, but the best in the SEC, maybe, but way too early. Let'um play a few games before you "load them down" like this.
Build players up to be all Americans then when they have a good season, but not great, it’s a failure! It’s what we do!

Having TWO lock down corners can make a defense so much better. Imagine if D. Taylor and some of the others can consistently pressure the QB as well. Those things combined will allow our safeties to really ball hawk and hopefully that translates into lots of turnovers. I just have a gut feeling our defense is going to be tough to score on. I may be totally wrong. Time will tell.
