Will we be better off without Erik Ainge?

I've already yelled at the radio and snapped at two people in the office, so clearly I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.... but that's just silly. Tennessee will do just fine at quarterback. And I say that without any judgement on the career of the kid from Oregon.
:eek:lol:

and i agree.

Yeah, and if he hadn't given up 145 point to Cal, Florida, and Alabama, we would have won the NC this year. Good Riddance Ainge!
:ermm: I don't remember a single down that EA played on defense....did I miss something???

we didnt have much of a running game, so i think lsu sat back on the passing game.wasnt all ainge's fault.

Did you watch the same championship game I did, first Ainge threw the interception that gave LSU the lead and then we drove down field with a chance to get back in it and he threw another one. I know some LSU fans that even said Ainge was their MVP that game and lets not forget we were still in the Florida game till he screwed up the hand-off because of his poor little finger.

to answer the original post. Only time will tell. Overall Ainge will be remembered as having his good and bad moments. Won more than he lost. Won a few big ones and lost a few big ones. And, he'll be remembered as injury prone.

No. Your comment is just uninformed. The question was if we will be better off without Erik Ainge. We're replacing a 4-year starter with a player that has been riding the pine for two years, has not seen significant playing time, and has looked terrible when he has seen extremely limited playing time.

Well, I'll stand by my uninformed opinion that Tennesse will be just fine at quarterback.

The hand-off was screwed up because the staff wanted him to hand off like that. The very same hand-off (to his left) was the cause of a fumble the game before against Southern Miss. You'd think that would throw up a flag or two before you play Florida. But no, our staff figured it would be fine to let him keep the funky hand-off.

It goes against everything he and Foster were coached througout their career. It would be like asking a punter to hold the ball with his opposite hand just before he punts. You can practice it, but eventually you're going to get burned.

No use arguing with someone that thinks Schaeffer (SP?) was a better QB than EA.

I guess you will stay uninformed then. The question wasn't "Will Tennessee be fine at quarterback?" The question was "Will we be better off without Erik Ainge?"

The answer to the first question is yes. The answer to the second question is no.

Sorry I got confused. My bad. For a second when I posted this thread I thought Crompton was called: Ben Crompton. But, when I left I figured out I was gonna get burned for that.
