Will we be allowed to have Spring practice?

ETSU didn't play any games last season but they have already started practice this year according to the local news, (Johnson City). Just how the NCAA plays into this, I have no idea at this time. Are there different rules for Div.1 and FCS schools? One thing for certain, UT needs all the practice it can get. D.Beckwith appears to be a beast at running back and it would be good to get a better than average OLine coach in here.

PS ETSU is a member of the Southern conference who opted to have a spring schedule so now I know.

the only thing keeping them from having spring is the cost of testing. There’s no TV money in the spring to offset the cost of testing so they can practice and isolate the positives to prevent an outbreak. JMO

Well if they do test, Knoxville health folks will "track" us to a non spring practice.

Be here pretty quick ? Anyone heard any news from the SEC or NCAA on the subject

They currently plan to have spring practice as usual. A public spring game is not likely, however.

Important to note related to this topic, spring sports had fall practice as normal, so there is no reason to believe fall sports would not be able to have spring practice.

FCS schools are playing a spring schedule beginning at the end of February running through the NCAA Tournament that will be at the end of April.

One side effect of this is there is a good possibility they will not play a full non-conference schedule next year, which has left some power five schools looking for an opponent. I know Tennessee had a commitment from an FCS school for the 12th game that has still not been announced, but that school has backed out because of playing a spring schedule this year.

Will there be another pandemic from you know where, who knows, mutations could derail everything
Stay tuned
Good grief! Lol. I hope our team mutates into a winner. I’ve heard admin is concerned with everyone’s hair on fire and sky falling. Big impact on facilities.

Ugh. We were so close to winning this game.

Doesn’t matter if we have spring practice or not. Slingblade will still be the coach so we’re still gonna suck.
