Will UT replace UAB with another cupcake

Thank you !!! If we played 4 cupcakes out of conference like the rest of the sec we would have been in bowl games the past few years ! Our own school is doing this to us! Why in the world do we have Oklahoma and Oregon on our schedule !! The best way to make a bowl game is get rid of those killer out of conf games ! Good lord don't add a second killer game !!

UT should schedule 3 easy OOC games and a home and home series with Memphis.

Just heard Jimmy say that UAB is scheduled to make $950K for the game next season but owes UT $950K if they (UAB) cancels. I think they'll push this off another year.

Don't necessarily want a cupcake but teams like Utah St, Ark St are better caliber teams. I think the Vols need a test like those teams but not an Oregon nor an obvious cupcake. Strength of schedule will make a difference in this new format imo.

I would love to play someone like Texas or notre dame to open the season with. So then we could spank them and shut espn up about them two.

Most of the SEC teams are playing cupcakes for most of their OOC games i don't see why UT should be the exception. Play three easy games and Memphis every season. UT would have been 7-5 if they would have done that this season and 6-6 in 2013.

Play a school from TN. Keeps the money in state. Several schools to choose from. MTSU, Austin Peay, TN State, TN Tech, UT Chatt or ETSU.

SEC West teams do that. Part of the reason they seem stronger imo. Almost every East team plays some bigger name ooc every year. UGA played 2 this year. The only East teams that don't play one big name ooc game are mizzou, vandy, and UK.

If it's stays in Nashville then a decent team like Boston College or Bowling green but if moved to Neyland then a game against AP or ETSU wouldn't be out of the question.

May be hard getting anyone who isn't playing on the opening week. Directional school maybe. Cupcake U may be available..

LSU played Wisconsin this year and TCU last year. They also played Oregon OOC recently. Alabama has had recent OOC games with Virginia Tech, Michigan, and Penn St. Auburn played Kansas St this year. Most every SEC team plays one BCS caliber and 3 cupcake OOC games.

This! UT isn't the only team to schedule a "tough" OOC game. Most of the conference does it but UT's tend to be more of a national type opponent (Oregon/ Oklahoma).

Playing FSU, Clemson, GT, & Louisville gets swept under the rug because those games are played every year.

maybe we can schedule a top 5 team so that everyone on here can't complain about bad coaching

Fair enough. It just makes my point stronger imo.
