Seriously. Our offense could be loaded.. If the running game is solid, and with the WR's we have, Bray seems to be coming around to the maturity and leader we need. I think the defense could be very good also. I honestly think this team has the makings of a very special year. What say you ?:loco:

Special compared to the past 3 years... maybe. Not enough yet to get over the hump IMO and contend

I think that they sure look like what could be a very good team. But so do 10 other sec teams. I think that our talent isnt quite as good as FLA,GA,Bama,Lsu,Au, and AK. This year will tell you alot about coaching. I think that it would be reasonable to see losses to AL,Sc, and GA.(Road games). I think the rest should be wins. Florida is going to be an interesting game. who is going to be their deep threat? Running back? and Qb? They have alot of highly rated players but 3 oc's in 3 yrs. could be tough. I see Tb leading the band at the end of this one.

Special in that they are viewed upon as the team that began the righting of the ship with 8+ wins. We still have a ways to go our rivals have been rolling for years.

Well lets look at it this way

in 2010 we were 1 play away from beating LSU and UNC which would have produced an 8 win season

In 2011 we should have beat USCe and Kentucky

In 2012 if we get a little lucky I can see us winning 9

I agree....I really feel good about this year. Just need to keep #21 away from the Drama!

If the coaching staff is any good then UT should be good or better this year... nine wins or more not including the bowl.

The passing game is going to be very special...maybe special enough to make the whole team special

I just don't see anyone slowing down our WR's. And if our offense can put up points and our D be good enough then we will be very special...Auburn did it and so can we.

I guarantee you we will have a LOT more talent than AK.


The University of Alaska can't even come close to UT.

Delusional. Auburn did it offensively mostly with their running game. Our running game was nearly the worst in all of Division 1 football last year. The running game moves the chains and continues drives. Without a DRAMATICALLY improved running game our potent passing offense will be watching our defense on the field. To say that our offensive line is soft is to be charitable. I don't see dramatic improvement in our running game in the cards this year.

This team has the potential to be very good on offense. However, at this point, there are just way too many question marks to assume the will come out of the gates and dominate. On both sides of the ball.

I don't see anything more than 7 to 8 wins. They may possibly make it to 9 with a little luck their way.

The changes in scheme on offense and defense, personnel changes with the staff and players and the difficulty of the SEC may be too much.

This team is improving but still a long ways away from competing with the likes of several other SEC teams.

The more I hear about this team and the crap that's going on the less inclined I am to believe that Dooley will prove to have any success here.

This team is special, has been special, and always will be special.
I will assume you mean this year’s class.
Yes, they can cross the Rubicon. They can be the group that is able to fulfill the hopes and dreams of everyone that loves Rocky Top.
The fact is they are that good, they still cannot do it alone. We as fans need to step up. The AD making the O&W Game free is a huge step in rallying the fans behind the team. We have to be that extra man, the factor that opponents cannot practice for. Fans are where players get that extra 10%. They can only give 100%, we have to provide the rest. When this big Orange Ball Gets going, I truly believe it could even roll over the tide this year. Every Game is Game 1, and the Score is always 0-0.

I think this team will be very special! The talent is there. We will have a very good defence! Think about it, our D-line is good and our secondary is going to be very very good with having to go up against our WRs all off season! Our LBs are really good as long as they stay healthy! Our O-line was very young last year and played very well for their age but will be much much better this year and a lot bigger also which can't hurt! Also with a RB coach and all the talent he has to coach, we will have a good if not great run game! Plus the Wrs will spread the field which will open up some big holes to run through! Neal and Lane will open eyes, then you have Young with all that speed, Smith with the power, and the the new guys coming in who knows what they can do yet! THIS IS GOING TO BE A SPECIAL YEAR! GO VOLS!
