Stern should hold his ground and break the union. Frankly mediocre players are grossly overpaid and the product has been ridiculously overpriced for years. The superstars will be fine, it's the regular Joe players that will be cleaned out.

Players are getting paid too much. IMO. Aren't most of the teams losing money? Seems ridiculous to me.

D Wade made some comment along the lines of if he and other super stars got paid market value, they would me making double what they do now. He rightly caught heat for that because it came off whiny, but it's probably true. That said, the business model is broken and that's because small markets just can't compete as easily, and many make poor business decisions to boot.

Yeah. It seems the big market teams have figured out how to work the salary cap and its screwing the small market teams. It'll be a shame if they miss this season because the championship window for my Mavs is shrinking, and the NBA seemed to be growing in popularity.

I like what LeBron said. Let's contract some teams.

I said yes, with games cancelled. I wouldn't be surprised to see a total lockout though

I pretty much agree with this.

I'll say they'll salvage some sort of shortened season, but I wouldn't lose any sleep if they missed the whole season. I don't even get into the NBA until about February and then it's passing interest until the playoffs. Of the 4 major sports leagues, it interests me the least.

Who voted that it will start on time?

The other two were always 50/50. Starting on time was never going to happen. Whose the clueless person that voted it would?

Part of me is happy they've canceled games because if 22 teams are truly losing money, the system needs to be fixed. I've known the Pacers have been losing money for years so that's no lie on their part. They lost money the year they went to the championship too... sounds like a broken system to me

The other part of me will be disappointed though because the Pacers are finally competitive again. Would hate to lose an entire season with this team. After watching them give the Bulls a run for their money in the playoffs and adding Brian Shaw/Jim Boylen as assistant coaches, I actually have faith in this team to make some noise.

No one really cares its just boring to watch.

No one really cares about your opinion, you're annoying to listen to.

Seriously dude... you came over to the NBA forum just to act snotty and claim you don't care. Awesome!!!!!
