Wade screamed at the refs the entire game. He walked out of the coach’s box onto the floor numerous times. His face turned shades of red and maybe a bit of LSU purple. He questioned every call that went against LSU. Wade went belligerent b/t 2-4min mark after Uros blocked a shot that should’ve been called goal tending. That was a big play as the Vols went on a run and “ballgame.”

The sad thing is his players took cheap shots. There was one play where the LSU player made a football “blocking move” and into one of players “manhood” area. It was called a flagrant so… but players follow the lead of their coach and Wade is bad. The players had to be separated 30 min before the game. But Uros mouthed off, too, and shoved a player during the game.

We don’t see it on TV but Barnes rides the refs, too. I didn’t hear him use profanity during the Vandy game (we were sitting close to the floor) but he does go after them, esp Valentine. However, Wade doesn’t show any respect and says every four letter word invented. He reminds me of a Bobby Knight.

Don’t put Robert Montgomery Knight in the same category as Wade. The General was the man

Texas making Vols look lousy. Barnes can’t coach. Do we have anybody over 6,3? We are just to small.

It was shameful to lose to an unranked Texas who manhandled us for most of the game. Hard to believe a team ranked 18th could play so sloppy and poorly against such a team. Really felt like we might pull it off in the final minutes, but it is what it is. Without question, coaching is an Achilles heel for us, and for Rick to lose his first match up against Texas was just plain embarrassing.

You're acting like this game was against Texas - Rio Grande Valley. Texas doesn't have a lot of tawny wins on their schedule (Tennessee is their marquee victory, to be clear), but they're not a bad team by any stretch of the imagination. Even if you don't care about metrics or rankings other than the AP Poll, their worst loss is at home against a K-State team which (while the worst team in the Big XII) isn't awful by any means.

Not implying they're equivalent to Tech in Cookeville, but they are unranked and we should have done better. Maybe we watched different games, but what I saw a sloppy, undisciplined, chaotic, ugly mess of a game where they had their way with us for much of it.

Texas, along with every other team Tennessee has lost against, will be ranked in the AP Poll come noon Monday. Tennessee played bad basketball for much of the first half, coupled with truly terrible ball in the first ten minutes of the second half, but had six minutes of near perfection to end the night. I get that the loss is disappointing, but I wouldn't call a one-point defeat in Austin shameful or embarrassing.

They reminded me a little of Texas Tech. Both teams we should typically beat but not when we play so poorly for much of the game.

Not the first time we went to Texas and fell behind by 17 points, but Barnes was coaching Texas then, but we came from behind and won that one with a good coach.

This is mild compared to what rightfielders listen to for 9 innings at Ole Miss. The sick frat losers at Ole Miss spend their nights looking up opposing players on social media, sports information guides to get names of mothers, girlfriends, etc then spend the game yelling vulgar things at him the entire game.
