here in the modern era? I know Tennessee beat Florida the first 10 games back in the early 1900's, but football was a completely different game back then. So what say volnation, can the modern day Vols ever break off 7+ in a row against the gators? What would need to happen (besides winning 7 in a row of course, lol)?

As much as I wish it would happen, it never will. There is just too much talent in the state of Florida.

It took them 38 years to beat us (10 in a row). Florida had two of the 10 greatest college coaching minds possibly of all time in the last 2 decades, not to mention Tebow. Don't sensationalize this. Gainesville is still one of the crappiest places in America, and our traditions are far superior.

Since that first 10, we're 9-22 against them; since 1972 we're 6-20.

The answer is not in the near future. It is about the coaching talent in the SEC. To say that Dooley is on par with Saban, Petrino, Miles, Spurrier, Chizik, Mullen, is just plain foolery. He may get there one day, but not now.
Fulmer had the luxury of coaching against tools like Donan, Dubose, DiNardo, and others - that's a big part of the reason UT was dominant in the late 90s

Hell, we had 7 in a row against Bama only 10 years ago.

True. I doubt we could pull that on Florida though. Like others have said, they have way too much talent coming in every year. I just couldn't picture us winning in Gainesville 3 trips in a row. I could see us doing 3 or 4 in Knoxville in a row, but not on the road.

Not as long as Foley is AD. While I think Muschamp is a bad hire, I don't think Foley is going to be stupid enough to keep a coach around that gets a losing streak of this magnitude going.

Pretty much the same things being said about Bama until we took em down the first time. If we give our coaching staff enough patience, the talent gap will get smaller until we have a chance every year.

You have to change your expectations. I know we will beat them from 2018 thru 2021. That is a 4 huh. Sorry.

I hope you don't die next year cause we win in 2012. Book it.

That, my friend, is changing as each year goes by.

we beat the Tide 9 out of 10 times from 1995-2004.
it could happen if Florida hires someone like Zook, then Zook part deux right after
