Will the Steelers keep Dobbs?

You gotta watch the tape. I broke down Joey Bosa's sacks as a rookie. Almost all of them were lucky and created by his teammates. I'll break down his sack tape this year as well and show y'all how it's luck.

Lulz. I’ll trust the former coaches and scouts who break down film for pro football focus. Bosa is currently graded at 91. That’s considered elite and best for top five among edge defenders.

This is where my eye test comes in. I don't base my assesment on Alvin's greatness based on stats. I watch every Saints game and watch how he plays. That is how I know his success right now is legit and not flukey.

For example, Joey Bosa has a lot of statistical success right now but in terms of watch him play, it's obvious his success is flukey and not sustainable.

You must've had pink eye when you saw Dobbs play in the preseason as a Steeler.

Although the Steelers are excited about Josh Dobbs and what he adds to the QB room, the Steelers don't just upset the apple-cart when it comes to establishing a pecking order. They drafted him to come in, and compete for the backup position, and Dobbs did that, but he did not win that position. Vs. the Browns, the back up quarterback was designated as starter, and that was not Josh Dobbs, it was Landry Jones, rightfully so. Dobbs is going to do what Josh Dobbs does, maintain the right attitude, work exceptionally hard, master the play book, and be as prepared as he can be, for his next opportunity to shine, which will probably be during OTA's later this year. Dobbs has more going for him from an arm-talent standpoint, and more going for him above the shoulders and between the ears than Jones, so this training camp is where Jobbs will probably overtake Jones for that back up position, unless #7 retires. If #7 retires, I see the Steelers going after the guy from the Redskins, while keeping Jones, and Dobbs> Dobbs would have to really, really, really shine during training camp to overtake Jones, minus Big-Ben.

Thank you for this interesting analysis.

If you’re so smart at all this, you should have been able to see that it wouldn’t happen; yet you did. And after Dobbs was gone, you again predicted UT would win it all.

He would never admit that even though we are apparently loaded with "elite first rounders" at every position according to him. Oh don't worry, he'll have an excuse for every thing he doesn't predict correctly. It's comical that every player that decides to come here, D4H always seem to say they're one of the best and have an unbelievably high ceiling. He's got a serious case of orange shades and a delusional obsession with Dobbs.

Quick to call other players busts but God forbid you call his precious Dobbs a bust...

Pitts had no intention of making Dobbs their back up THIS yr They have a super bowl team and Jones job is to win the winnable games if Ben goes out. Dobbs win compete next yr or when Jones moves on due to contract

I know one thing I bench big Ben and start Dobbs on Madden 18 and he has been unstoppable!

Pittsburgh never signs BIG free agents. So they will not go for Cousins
They get middle of the road free agents or they trade for them such as Bettis

I'd say there is a real chance he is cut. Landry Jones took every snap 24 of 27, and they won a meaningless game.

Pitts played the Cleve game in order to prepare Jones in case Ben got injured or shook up in one of these playoff games. If you have a team capable of winning it all like Pitt does, you have to prepare your backup somewhat so that if BR goes down for awhile, you don't automatically lose. I doubt it was ever in the plan to play Dobbs vs Cleve. He was only active cause they weren't going to play BR regardless.

Dobbs will have his chance next year I suspect.
