Will the Oregon Game Sell Out?

Uh.... maybe because we sell out every conference game. Every year.

Used to be every game was 3-4000 over "capacity." I don't keep track anymore. Just because we've had a few down years is no reason to go ruining our stadium! :rock:

We've already lost enough due to all these skybox renovations. In a year or two, when CDD gets us back on the right foot, we'll be selling out once more.

Have you been to Neyland? Even when we play, say UT Martin or UAB, the stadium is hardly "morgue-like." There are some empty seats up in the nosebleeds, but we will need those come Florida or Bama week!


I'm sorry to hear about your family troubles, and wish you the best. I hope you get the chance to see a game in Neyland sometime, though I don't know when we'll schedule Oregon again, hehe. It really is something.

I've been to Knoxville a couple times, beautiful area. When I was there the exterior of the stadium wasn't exactly "pretty". They were just starting to do renovations when I was there. I've seen some new pics and it looks much nicer. I didn't mean to imply that Nyland was anything like the Colosium, the Colosium isn't a great football stadium. My point was simply that it's a very large stadium that was like a morgue when half full as tends to happen when USC isn't doing well.

Here's a trivia for you next time a USC fan talks about dominating the PAC-10 ask them how they've done against Oregon over the last ten games or so. They will either not know or get quiet. Yea, we're the only PAC-10 team over that period that has a winning record against them.

It has only been the last 3 seasons where we haven't sold over 100% capacity. If we were decent this year the Oregon game would have been sold out a month ago.

Hope your Mom gets better.

Only seats available now for UTM are upper deck in the south endzone (GG-QQ). Won't sell out, but hopefully the top half of the upper deck over there won't look too empty.

I suspect the fans will let Oregon know they are there come game time..... That's one of the things that makes college football great. And I'm sure the Duck fans will do the same thing when you come to visit.

My high school football team's seniors go down to a tennessee game for a senior foobtlal trip eevery year. they r goin to the oregon game this year so that is about 30 seats filled at neyland lol

5,000 tickets left as of Wednesday 9/1 at 3:30 PM
Oregon is bringing 5,300 fans according to Joe Arnone of the UT ticket office.

With 65 inch plasmas at home and tons of food, beer and Jack Daniels, many would rather watch this game at home, it seems.

High Definition tv and big screens are certainly something.

But there is nothing on tv that compares to watching the Pride of the Southland live and in person marching toward the formation that will make the T in a few steps. That moment the T splits and the players start moving is worth the traffic and other hassle of going to a live UT game.

Agreed. I hope to make it to at least 2 games this year. Once we move back into the area the wife might let me be a season ticket holder :dance2:

I wouldn't say worthless. People get old. It happens. :p

But I agree, even if you get 8 replay angles of that goal line stand at home, absolutely NOTHING compares to watching it with 100,000+ screaming, drunk, belligerent fans, and seeing all those orange jerseys running around in person.

but being a broke first year alumni I plan on scalping out front. Don't expect to pay more than $40.

Just ordered our tickets through the ticket office. We got Z12 Row 10. Hoping they are good seats. Its our first trip to Neyland. Can't wait!

If Tennessee is undefeated and we are playing a ranked team there is no excuse for not being sold out. If it is not I will be embarrassed of the Vol Nation.
