Will The Cold Weather Play To Our Favor?

I've seen every angle discussed for the game tomorrow. How about the cold they're predicting? It's supposed to be at freezing or below tomorrow night? Will it affect play, especially LSU's?

Good, Somebody at work today told me it was moved to 7:30. He's a Gator fan and I guess he just wanted me to miss seeing it on TV. Must be his way of getting even for me hacking on him so much about Auburn. :birgits_giggle:

I doubt it. Roundabout this time of year TigerStadium gets pretty doggone cold, mostly because of the wind. I doubt weather will contribute much. If it were snow that'd be a different issue, probably for both teams.

For once it was nice to have the hot band uniforms.

After feeling confident going into Auburn and Florida, a lot of fans find confidence to be a good reason not to have confidence.

We are extremely leery, but put our hope on our team's ability to pull through when they know their entire season is on the line right here, right now.

Confidence is fairly high. LSU has already played two top-10 teams on the road and is unlikely to get rattled in Neyland. Our best offensive guard is out with an injury, but most everybody else is healthy. Neither Florida nor Auburn kept LSU from moving the ball and both had problems with the LSU defense.

Poor field position kept LSU from scoring despite putting up over 300 yards offense versus both Florida and Auburn. If LSU has cured its special teams woes, they have a good chance in the game and they know it.

But it's a big IF . . .

I have to agree with red55 that I do not think this will be a game where LSU comes in jittery. At this point in the season the players on both teams know what they are capable of and they know what they have to do if they are going to have a shot at winning (i.e. everyone knows their role by now). The only exception would be guys who are coming off the bench to fill holes for injured players. UT obviously has the most exposure here with the possibility of Crompton coming in. This has already been talked to death so I see no reason to rehash it. I do think that UT is going to be playing more conservative in this game, which may not be good news for the Vols. If EA is hobbled, the the Vols will have to maintain a pocket for him which means less potential receivers downfield as the TE or FB stay home to block. I do think that even with a watered-down playbook the Vols should be able to scratch out 6-13 points (maybe more) through 2-3 sustained drives. Obviously, that will not be enough to win the game but if the special teams can play like they did last week and Hefney/Wade can get a pick or two it could blow the game wide open.
