I feel we fans should stop presuming we're in position to judge players whom we don't directly interact with, know, coach or anything else. Just look at the Butch Vols who only mustered free agency, then qualified as pretty solid pros once they got a better chance than judgmental fans gave them and better coaching. Instead, APPRECIATE our players for coming to the UT and donning the orange and white. A foreign concept I know. For which I will condemned and damned for without a doubt. As if I care.

He's a 4 front guy playing in a 3 front.

Isn't the nose gaurd or wth its called in 34 usually bigger? perhaps if he had someone to take on blocks hed be having a stat padding season?

it's not as though we're Bama or UGA, or even Ky on the line talent wise.

You don't have to directly interact with, know, or coach a player to have an opinion on whether or not a guy will go pro. You can get a good read on a guy's abilities simply by watching him play in games over the course of his career.

I feel bad for Shy because of the injuries he's experienced while at Tennessee, a couple of which came on a very questionable (at best) hit during the Georgia game a few years ago. When he's played, I think he's done OK considering I don't think he'll ever be the player he could have been. I wouldn't put him in the underachiever category like most of the defensive line teammates he's had over the years (McKenzie, Phillips, Kongbo).

I think he'll have to wow people during workouts/at the combine, which might be difficult given his injury history to get a shot. The injury history itself will scare a lot of people away. He's missed a lot of games in his college career and when he has played he doesn't exactly dominate games or obviously make is presence felt.

Dagum you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When folks respond in a common sense and civilized manner, plus being basically accurate, it forces me to give a like. Curse you, never_again!

Late round pick IMO.

He's the reverse Kahlil McKenzie. McKenzie belonged in a 3-4 as a NT and his skills were somewhat hidden in a 4-3 as a DT. Tuttle is better suited in a 4-3 as a DT than as a 3-4 NT.

Tuttle was an absolute beast before injuries, though, and I think some NFL team is smart enough to see that. NFL teams probably still has injury concerns, but he has extraordinarily high upside for a late round pick for the right team.

Too many injury concerns to be drafted. But, if he can stay healthy, I can see him making a team as a free agent.

If the body if willing, he has NFL skills.

I know this much about Shy, he finally looks healthy again. He is running to the sidelines and is getting into the backfield. This guy can definitely play on Sundays from a layperson's perspective.

At this point I'd have to say probably not, but you never know. He will have to turn it up several notches this year to even be considered.

Drafted yes, big time contributor no. He hasn't shown the ability to physically weather an entire season much less an NFL season which is much more physical and at least 4 games longer

He has all measurables....has been soft since injuries, when you compare his tape over the years....he might end up in practice team..he will have to work his way up the ladder in NFL..

I think certain he will see exhibition games. Maybe/maybe not on Sundays. At lease practice squad seems likely.
