Will Overstreet

Yep I've followed UT football since day one. The only thing I remember about Overstreet is him being hurt all the time.

It seems you're memory may not be that great, but oh well. He was a gamer when he was at UT. I don't listen to his show, so maybe this is why my opinions of him are still high. He did have many injury issues with the Falcons though.

No, my memory is just fine. I just remember him being a decent DE. I do remember him being an Academic All-American, because he did excel in the classroom

That's different than stating he was injury prone while at UT. We can agree to disagree on how good he was. If you still remember him staying off the field at UT due to injuries, than your memory is not the best.

On Pennigton's show, more evidence of incestuous thinking coming from Mike Stowell... saying we should consider Doug Marrone...

Overstreet is what Kyle Vanden Bosch would be if KVB had no legs. High motor, with plenty of potential, but handicapped nonetheless.

You may have explained more than you realized. Many may view Overstreet as "injury prone" since that tag hit him while at the Falcons. KVB had a tag of injury prone while at Arizona, but he has not been that way with the Titans. (Ironically, KVB has a hamstring injury now. In essence he is without one leg now.)

He was a decent DE who benefited by playing next to 2 NFL Pro Bowl DTs.

But he is one of the biggest fulmer apologists out there, which has sullied his reputation with the fans over the past couple of years.

Very well said General. :good!:

A caller (Bear) asked Oversheep if he would have taken a similar stand for King Johnny back in the day, and he said he didn't know. He said that he didn't think Johnny had a "family" atmosphere like Phil did. What does that have to do with the price of a buyout in Knoxville?

I would disagree with that order.

University(giving them free education)
Coach
Fans
Themselves
You are very idealistic if you think players put themselves last... we certainly know that coaches don't.

You always gotta look out for #1...

OverStreet is a superhomer, thats why I believe a bunch of people have displayed their disdain about him.

Oversheep....Boo.
I actually listened to what he said until his rant a few weeks ago going after the fans. I feel dumb for listening now.

Doubt anybody comes back to look at this thread, but I feel most of you are highly out of line. The guy was recruited to play for Tennessee and he gave it his all while here. What did you do? Sit in the stands and cheer for him.

The guy was good and if hadn't been some fluke injury to his shoulder, he would have had a very successful NFL career. He was one of my favorite players while here. I mean, he was white and he brought it every game. So what if he is sticking up for Fulmer...the man is gone, remember???

It's easy to cheer for someone when they are on the field. But sometimes when you get a glimpse of their personality, it can turn you real quick.
