will neal get drafted?

I agree, but the last few games he seemed much more North and South.

Coached up possibly???

.

Oh, he's definitely been coached up. Gillespie is a fantastic RB coach and I hope we hang onto him for a long time. No-nonsense and no BS. A real straight shooter.

At this point, I think I can even forgive his, uh, questionable playing background.

I'd draft that in the 1st round and let her dance when ever she wanted too!

I like your way of thinking

If you guys can't tell that he's a sub 4.4 guy on the field, you're blind. Neal can RUN

However, I don't see a high level of agility/quickness on the field.... which as the coaching staff told him, is because he runs "stiff." He's not very fluid with his shoulders (maybe its him trying to keep his pads square?). This makes it appear as if he isn't that fast, which is misleading. If he ran "looser"..... watch out. But it is what it is. It hurt him bouncing outside all the time, though his between-the-tackles running has improved tremendously the last two years.

Spot on analysis. Neal does run kinda stiff and doesn't have that suddenness or quickness. But if he gets a head of steam in the open field, watch out he can really move. That's why I think he runs a good 40 time and impresses at the combine.

Yes, Neal will get drafted. By who, I have no idea. After the middle of the first round, my guesses get thrown way off. But I feel his runs got stronger as the season progressed. I would think as high as 3rd round, and as late as the 6th.

He still has a problem with fumbling the ball. However, I remember a certain back who fumbled the ball at critical times during the ball game who now is a super star at Houston.

Will be a good pick for someone in the 4th, or 5th round. I believe he helps himself at the combine if he goes.

If he gets a combine invite and tears it up there numbers wise, I think someone will take a chance on him in the 5-7th rounds.

He'll need to run a 4.45 or better to get drafted IMO.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Neal reminds me a lot of Foster. Foster was often criticized for dancing behind the line. He did. Neal really suffered because of the poor coaching and indecision of his position early in his UT career. A lot of people forget that Dooley moved him to WR. Who we now know as a 1,000 yard rusher in the SEC was moved to WR. Brilliant.

Further, Chaney's pass happy offense wasn't a good fit. Neal can catch the ball, which is huge in the NFL, is durable and doesn't appear to have gotten beaten up much in his tenure. In the right scheme, he will flourish in the NFL.

I think people also forget that in addition to his speed, Neal has set pretty much every strength record at UT amongst running backs. I remember reading on VQ on a couple of occassions that he lifted with the O-Linemen. Neal will be an animal in the combines.

The only chance Neal has to get drafted is if America goes to war. :p

I think he goes in a later round.

In all fairness to Dools (can't believe I'm saying this), he was a pretty good slot WR. I think that was more of an attempt at fitting his strength (picking up big yards when in the clear) into said pass-happy offense.

Yes he will get drafted! He will test well at the combine! I assume he will be a mid round pick like 4th round!

he will go anywhere from 4 to not drafted depending on his combined but will end up good in the NFL....anyway u cut that pie

Of course it depends on the combine but I think he will be late 2nd to 3rd round pick. A lot of pro teams realize that most of his Tn career we were Wide Receiver U and he was over shadowed by the likes of JH, CP DaRick and others. Every pro team is looking for the next Foster.

I don't think he gets drafted but he will make a camp. How long he stays around will be on him. Will he learn that he's not faster than everyone like he was in hs, that these teams have too many options that will listen when he decides to dance instead of running straight ahead, will he learn to keep his feet moving and push forward after contact.

He has too many questions, too much to learn and not enough demand to be drafted. At the very best some team may draft him late in the 7th round but most likely he will end up an undrafted free-agent.

He's supposed to be crazy fast... Although it never has translated to the field. If he runs in the 4.4's on the electronic clock he will most certainly be drafted

Agree. Kids a workout warrior with great measurables and an 1,100 yd SEC season under his belt.

Interesting to see who Neal is ahead of on this draft board. Especially if you think back to their recruiting rating coming out of HS. Silas Redd and Isiah Crowell were gonna propel us to another level by transfering here according to some. Don't see how De'Anthony Thomas doesn't go higher considering his Special Teams value.
