Bring in Muschamp as DC with the promise that he'll be the next head coach. Similarly to what FSU is doing.

CPF is my coach and our coach right now and for the forseeable future. Let's stop the speculatioin about the next dynasty. Remember we went outside the Big Orange family with the Bill Battle hire several years ago. How did that work?
Last year some were ready to hang CPF because he wouldn't get rid of some of the Assistants. Now he has almost a completely new staff and the talk is who will replace him. Lets get behind the players and the ENTIRE Coaching Staff and stomp the H*&% out of the rest of the SEC after we put away UCLA and UAB.

Please compare CP's bowl record with that of every past Big Orange Coach and then tell me he isn't building a legacy equalling or bettering any of the coaches in the past. Don't get to quick with criticism, I loved the heritage the General gave us too.

This guys a beast. Went from walk-on to team captain at Gaw'ja.
As much as I want him here I think there is one thing that will be a turnoff for MH. The guy speaks his mind and as Justin Groves said (a little unstable) But, I am hoping that he comes to the hill next year. Would love to see him be the HC, hopefully he would do DC himself.

But, I am also of the opinion that we need a house cleaning. Fulmer, Chavis, Slade, Brooks, Caldwell I think they all need to go. Scott, Drayton and Clawson all should stay imo.

Hamilton knows, if he has to hire a coach, it will be without a doubt the biggest hire of his life. To tell you the truth he most likely won't be doing the HR but he will get the acclaim-blame. That being said, I don't think anyone cares about an outspoken person as long as they're going to put winning products on the field.

Fulmer will probably hang around for years, due to his long term contract and big buyout.

this is the young guy ( if we go the young route ) I would hire ; lots of passion ; good defensive mind ; very motivated

I think his passion is really about the only thing he has going for him. Not very impressed with him personally. just my 2 cents

He's coached some good defenses and learned under Saban. I think him alot, his only problem is he is not that stable.

I think he goes to Auburn anyway.

Will Muschamp is the real deal; I hope UT has the ca-hon-ias to go after some one with this much tenacity and sprit. (but just in case…let’s not give him a 6millon dollar payout)

Oh please, This guy should not even be mentioned as a HC possiblity at UT...If He was as good as some people are making him out to be he would already BE a head coach...It's a serious gamble for any top school to hire this guy...He's highly unstable and just downright CRAZY sometimes...I will give him a little credit tho, He's got a good verticle jump on his chest bumps...Him and Trooper Taylor would look like the leaping Lowinda's at the circus if they were on the same field hahaha!!

funny to see this critique coming from a guy who is promoting mike leach...

Hey he is a little bizarre as well but you know the difference?...Leach is a PROVEN head coach and a winner for that matter...The mad scientist for sure but proven...That's all that needs be said in that comparision

Leach is the flavor of the week...a flash in the pan.

Muschamp's not even the flavor of the week...He is aspiring to be a flash in the pan

Will has done little to nothing to improve the TX Defense this year

Huh?

Right now Texas is better in the 4 big categories measuring defense than they were last year.

They are almost 5 points per game better in scoring defense. They were 4th in the conference last year and are now 1st.

They are giving up almost 8 fewer yards a game rushing than last year and lead the conference.

They are giving up 11 fewer passing yards a game.

And have improved their total defense to 3rd in the conference and roughly 20 yards fewer per game.

Granted, its not his LSU or Auburn defenses, but he has helped Texas, and will probably see even better results after a year under his belt.
