Will McBride is our QB moving forward.

Guarantano simply doesn't have it. He looks awkward and robotic on the field. He's indecisive and holds the ball too long. He lacks awareness of the pocket and where pressure is coming from. He doesn't to through his progressions quickly and when he throws the ball it's typically inaccurate. He's also not an explosive or agile runner.

Maybe he can get better. But right now he looks awful. Other than for throwing screen passes, he's not shown the ability to do much of anything else.

Will McBride wins by default.

Clearly that has nothing to do with it. Nor does the complete lack of QB coaching or horrid OL play. Some on VN make quick assumptions based on single game performances without taking anything into consideration.

For me, I think JG did a pretty good job considering how bad the OL is, our limited play calling and his injury. Oh and lets not forget, he did playa against a very good defense.

You literally a couple posts after this talked about how bad WB looked against SM. That's the definition of using quick assumption from one game. Lol

Should have recruited Troy's QB. He had no problem beating this giant killer of a Defense.

That was back when people expected to win games. They were much more arrogant back in those days. Hard to remember that far back now, I know, but it was true that once people wearing orange had pride.

That's the slowest most indecisive "scrambling" QB I've seen in some time. :)

Let's hope QD's performance this season was limited due to the shoulder issues.
If not it will be another long season in 18

I don't know that ive seen a less mobile QB than JG. Blows my mind how he is considered a "dual threat"...I've yet to see a single threat. He seems to have no passion about playing. Its like his only goal is not to get hurt. I wouldn't judge his passing from this game because nobody can throw accurately in wind and rain like that but I actually thought he threw the ball pretty good considering the weather.

McBride at least acted like he wanted to make a play and played fearless when he got his shot. He showed a lot of heart and I like that.

People trying to assess our QBs right now are idiots. And don't give me that.."well I can just tell by the looks on their faces or that guy is tough as nails" crap. JG has been pummeled. Remember how hard he was hit over and over and over against Bama in his first start but popped back up every time? Mcbride was hit hard a few times against Mizzou as well and he continued to play. They are both tough. And they are both playing behind ZERO offensive line with questionable, at best (probably worse) coaching. When there is competent coaching and a healthy Oline, lets assess then. Right now its a p*ssing contest between who "likes" which QB better. They are both giving their all in a nearly impossible situation to succeed. I like both of them and think they can both succeed. Dormady too.

Sold a bill of goods on JG. He is slow in all parts of the game. Slow footed, slow in reading the defense and cannot see a blitz. Not a so called 5-star. For this offense and our current offensive line, McBride gives us a better chance of winning with his ability and willingness to run the ball. JG not one keeper last night on the read option.

That's....pretty much it. These Will McBride guys are in an alternate universe or something. Other than a play here and there, the only decent QB play I've seen all year was the 4th qtr against Georgia Tech.

I agree - the kids have shown heart and are tough in a hopeless situation. McBride is the result of good evaluation and recruitment by somebody. He was unheralded but unfazed as a true freshman to enter the arena. We have seen Peterman and others be disasters is similar situations and McBride may have more upside than the other 2 qbs. I also think a new staff may do wonders working with Will and JG - even Dormady if healthy may rebound in 2018.
