Chil, Francis. Nobody is calling for Butch's head. And most know that Bajakian's hands are tied with an OL this bad. You seem to want to overlook the fact that the one weak spot on this team cost the WHOLE team 6 losses this year, and is statistically the worst in FBS and in recent history.

We actually have 3 upper classmen playing on the line, and had 4 at various times, so it's not YOUTH. It's some inexperience, sure. But if they have been on the team for 3yrs+, those upperclassmen should be holding their own by now.

When you don't have experience and you're going up against the best DL in the country almost game after game, it's kinda hard to have an All-American type year.

It's amazing how we want to blame the OL Coach for sacks, when you should be talking to the coach about it. From Worley to Dobbs the number reduced of Sacks considerably.

What's more, We played the Missouri game with a pretty much depleted OL line due to injuries. Get your head on and open your eyes. You fail to see that QB play can greatly affect OL play as is the case here.

What we don't need is more coaching staff turnover. This is so idiotic it is not worth discussing. We need better and more depth, not a new coach. Mahoney has had success in the past and who is to say a new guy wouldn't be a bust under CBJ's system? He started with 2 raw freshmen on the right side of the line, a walk on at LT, then a player that should be a guard at LT, then a one legged RT. How many starts did this group have at the beginning of the season? I believe about 6 or 7 is the number. He probably should get a raise for what he had to coach this year.

I am hoping for another year with no staff turnover. I am not sold on Mahoney but I think he deserves another season.

Amen. Once the cupboard is fully stocked, then I'll take a position on coaching performance.

Also, the scheme the OL is being asked to learn is much more encompassing than big guy blocks up front, or big guy makes a hole. It's a lot to learn and until they get it down, they will continue to get owned.

I hope so. Mahoney is the last name of my baby mama and quite frankly I'm sick of seeing it associated with my vols considering she blames our relationship failure on my love for the big orange.

Does that mean we are in trouble tomorrow?

Tennessee's offensive line entered the 2014 season with just six career combined starts, which is by far the least in the nation. While the Vols replaced their entire starting unit from 2013, most of the SEC is welcomed back multiple starters. Here's what the rest of the league returns up front, according to each program's preseason media guide.
Team Returning career starts
Alabama 37
Arkansas 47
Auburn 112
Florida 55
Georgia 57
Kentucky 73
LSU 75
Mississippi State 76
Missouri 72
Ole Miss 42
South Carolina 113
Tennessee 6
Texas A&M 89
Vanderbilt 83

Are those numbers just for the O-line of each team? If so, that puts a little perspective on things...

Wait, sorry... Just an excuse!! Fire this pathetic staff, the whole lot of them!!! We should be winning now!!!!!

Has nothing to do with Tomorrow's game, but I guess if you want to worry about it then go ahead.

We have a depleted line. Vanderbilt is going to a 3-4 without the right personnel, remember that experiences here?

Dobbs prevents sacks because he is a threat and can move in the pocket. Worley couldn't and didn't. Plus can't stand in the pocket for ever if you do the ball needs to be out in 4.12 sec or less.

Notice how Hurd is now getting more yards. The line was constantly on their heels with Worley they are not with Dobbs.

Worry if you must. LOL

This sums it up completely. Mahoney had it tougher going into this season than any other O-Line coach in CFB. The man deserves at least one more year. Butch has kept him since C Mich for a reason.

Voted no, because the poll is missing the answer "this poll is f'n stupid" as a choice.
Wasn't too f'n stupid for you to drop in and make a f'n stupid comment.

39 sacks (not counting tomorrow's game) isn't even remotely close to being decent, much less All American.
